Yup, cool can also be affordable. Of course the best place to start with hot rod is a Business Coupe. Moonshiners loved these long trunk machines because the extra storage held the most product. This one is not set up to haul liquor, but it is this outlaw performance spirit that makes this coupe so cool even before the rodder upgrades. Plymouth used less chrome than some of their competitors, which gives the green paint on this one an uncluttered, and more modern appearance. With chrome being used sparingly, it really helps it stand out on places like the bumper, grille, and the specialty wheels 14 inches in the front and 15 inches in the rear, help the suspension have a nicer stance. The performance-minded appearance even makes the Plymouth hood ornament look like it has some extra wind in its sails. Inside there is gray cloth tweed that covers nearly everything from the door panels to the carpeting (the trunk even matches, too!) The material quality feels good, and there are some cool "V" patterns imbedded into the flat panels to give them some extra style. The single-seat bench was upgraded to two buckets, but that still won't stop you from sliding over and saying "hi" to your date at the drive-in. There's a full Auto Meter gauge package that includes a speedometer, tachometer, oil, fuel, water, and voltage, all in a perfect straight row. The ideal hot rod is not one that someone had built just because he had the budget. You want a car that looks cool and spent decades in the hands of someone who truly cared. This one certainly has had a lot of time and money invested to do it right, and it shows. Powering this green machine is hot rodder's most chosen, 350 cubic-inch small block Chevy V8. The reason why it is so often preferred is not just because the motor offers good power in a compact size, but also it's a nice base for a host of performance upgrades. This one gets the benefits of an Edelbrock 750 carburetor, performance air cleaner, chrome steel tubing, chrome valve covers, and a Holley Intake. Not every one of these helps this coupe go faster, but they all make this hot rod's engine bay look amazing. And the TH350 its bolted to puts the ponies down. Another piece that's not often thought about, but is important, is the electric fan. It makes sure there is less drag on the motor and more power is being put to the road. All of this is capped off with a stout Ford 9-inch rear end. So, it's a Plymouth on the outside, but it runs the best of the other Detroit companies underneath its skin. This hot rod is the kind of car that turns heads without breaking the bank. So you can be cool and practical...we can even keep that second part, the great deal, our little secret. Dont wait, call today!! 1938 Plymouth Business Coupe for Sale 1938 Plymouth Business Coupe for Sale Stock # 2936-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. For sale, an absolutely gorgeous, Plymouth! This 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe was a purchased as a rust free survivor car, with low miles and in incredible condition. After showing it, it owner who was in his early 70s decided to do a restoration of the car, and so the car underwent a high end restoration. The engine was upgraded to a later model 230 ci motor and all mechanicals where went over, and brought back to new condition. The pictures will provide you will a good idea of its condition. Once it was complete he showed the car and it won pretty much every show it was entered into. The car was kept in heated and air conditioned garage in Missouri, until the owner fell ill and it was purchased and moved to PA where it was placed in heated storage. The intent was for the transmission to be upgraded to a 1940 overdrive which would have been available as a dealer option in the day. An overdrive will go with the car, that will be completely rebuilt by the master of the Mopar overdrives, George Asche, and the new owner can opt to have it installed by their mechanic, or by Asche Mechanical, at their expense. The car has a clear Missouri title and can be titled in Ontario Canada at no additional cost to the new buyer. This is without question the finest 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe available for sale anywhere. Being offered at less than 1/2 of just the restoration costs! You just simple will not find a nicer one. The above referenced automobile is being sold as is with no warranties. Vehicle is available for viewing and inspection prior to the close of auction. If you have any questions please ask before bidding. I am happy to answer any questions prior to the hammer coming down. You are welcome to inspect and drive the car prior to the end of the auction. As with all used automobiles, we highly encourage inspections in person or via a third party prior to bidding. The winning bidder is responsible for the completion of the sale and by placing a bid you agree that you have the resources and intend to complete the sale. A winning bid is not to secure a chance to come look after the auction is over. All sales are final.! Tim * Was asked about pickup/storage of the car. As long as it is paid in full within 14 days, the car can stay garaged for a month or two if required and would be at no additional cost. It will be up to the buyer to assume liability and insure the car after it is sold. We can also make sure the car is loaded, should the purchaser be using a 3rd party carrier to transport the vehicle. In that scenario we will send the title by registered mail to the buyer at no additional cost to the purchaser.

All steel 1930 Plymouth Business Coupe. It's powered by a 1954 331ci Chrysler Hemi V8 with dual quads on a Hot Heads intake manifold, Herbert Cam, Ross forged pistons, steel crank, Hot Heads timing cover and gear set, electric fan, MSD ignition, and an Optima battery. The front end is Mustang II with tubular upper and lowers and there's QA1 coil over suspension in front and back. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch with 4 bar suspension. It has a 727 Tranny with an Auburn Center Section and Dutchmen Axles. The car is slowed down with 4 wheel disc brakes! It has Authentic Super ET mags with BFG tires, tinted glass, polished aluminum fuel tank, L.E.D. tail lights, Dynomax dual exhaust, and a custom radiator! Inside you'll find a really classy interior with leather bucket seats, tilt steering column, console, Pioneer CD/MP3/USB stereo, vintage heat and air, remote door locks, and power windows. The wipers work. The whole car has been treated with POR 15 and Dynomated for a quiet ride! The exterior has some mild custom body mods and the gorgeous black paint is done by Rich VanPelt. The only area that could use some work are the gauges and they could easily be updated. Check out over 50 pictures and videos of the car at: http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/59impala2/library/

This is a 1936 Plymouth Business Coupe with a straight 6 with manual 3 speed stick. and is an all original car except for seal-beam conversion headlights. This Mopar coupe was purchased by me about 28 years ago from my former bother in-law who purchased in barn find in Michigan on a trip to look at a split window Corvette. After that he sent it out and had it stripped and bottom blasted and had it painted in Plymouth Maroon and the bottom in black, and then he married and started a family and as money got tight was forced to sell and i purchased it and have owned since and have spent the years finding all the parts to finish which i have done, the only thing left to do is the interior which the old interior is their to copy. All the interior trim and dash were set out and done in wood grain finish and is beautifully done, new glass was cut, new tires, and new or upgraded many of the rest of the parts as needed. I have ran the motor each year and has always ran great. I have not done that this year yet as the 6 volt battery died over the winter and have not replaced it yet. Their are no issue's with the clutch or transmission, but brakes will need to be bled. I have an opportunity to purchase a 36 Plymouth Convertible and is the only reason that i will part with this coupe, as I am rising cash for that purchase, but I will not go below my set price as this as as nice as it gets with still some work to be done so you can still feel like you had a hand in the completion. I wish to see this to stay stock and not hot-rodded. Before I forget there is a small dent in the left front fender from years ago when my daughter took a bike down in the garage from a ceiling hook and the petal hit the metal. Questions please call me at 920-912-6933, 9am-9pm cst if no answer leave message i will return all calls. Thanks Steven

Beyond Business – Brian Baker’s 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe
Brian Baker’s 1950 Plymouth business coupe is precisely the type of car Goodguys had in mind when we established the Vintage Air Custom Rod of the Year award nearly three decades ago. It combines traditional customizing techniques and elements with modern street rod refinement and attitude in a cool, clean, and cohesive package.
There’s no doubt this coupe showcases distinctive and classy style, but what makes Brian’s Plymouth even cooler is its family history. His uncle Bob bought the coupe in the late-’60s and drove it around his Phoenix-area home for years. Brian’s parents bought the car in 1979 after it was involved in an accident and Brian helped perform the repairs to get it roadworthy again. The Plymouth was driven in stock form off and on through 1995, when it went into storage for roughly 20 years.
Brian began the current rebuild three years ago, using a 2007 Dodge Magnum as a donor for the 5.7-liter Hemi, overdrive automatic transmission, and independent rear suspension. He narrowed the rearend 9-inches and also narrowed the Plymouth’s original front A-arms and added a GM power steering rack, as well as air springs. The engine, meanwhile, was upgraded with Sullivan Performance valve covers, JBA Headers, custom exhaust, and a Hot Wire wiring harness. One-off 18×7- and 20×12-inch wheels in Continental rubber got things up and rolling.
A host of subtle body mods includes shaved handles and emblems, flipped and tucked bumpers, custom bumper filler panels, one-off hood trim, hidden front turn signals, custom taillight bezels and lenses, a flush-fit fuel door, and custom license mount and trim. Brian did the bodywork himself, and also sprayed the PPG Vintage Maroon finish.
Well-thought design continues inside, with a modified dash that incorporates Classic Instruments gauges, custom trim, Vintage Air, and a tilt column with a custom-wrapped GM wheel. Ryders Custom Upholstery stitched the modified bench seat and custom door and side panels in a combination of leather and ’57 Chevy material, with patterned metal inserts. Brian’s uncle Tom carved the pirate-themed shifter knob.
The LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals was the Plymouth’s first outing and it garnered plenty of attention and accolades throughout the weekend. From there, Brian headed to Arizona for the FiTech Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, where he took his 93-year-old uncle Bob for a ride. We can only imagine the look on Bob’s face when he saw how cool his old 1950 Plymouth business coupe is now!

1939 Plymouth Business Coupe
Cruisin Classics has a beautiful classic to offer in the form of a 1939 Plymouth Business Coupe. Just to get it out of the way this is an outstanding automobile. When it is at idle, you can barely hear it. The gorgeous Black paint is almost mirror like and as you look down the side you will notice how straight this car really is. If you are going to have beautiful black paint, you better be straight. This is that in spades. The outside also boasts shiny trim and chrome, classic steel wheels with Plymouth caps and rings, Coker Classics Wide-Whites for tires and to finish it all off is the prettiest chrome grill at the show.
The very detailed and purring 201 cubic inch straight 6 is from 1939 (P8 stamped on block), with a single barrel carburetor. The 12-volt conversion is already done for you along with a couple of upgrades like electric fuel pump and electric fans. The split headers trail off to a dual exhaust that leaves you with the most classic sounding automobile on the block. Adding to the wonderful sound and the drivetrain is the manual 3-speed transmission. The long stick shifter is on the floor and very easy to operate with no slamming necessary into any gear.
The interior is as you would expect top-notch. The bench seat is very comfortable with easy manual operation. One of the most eye-catching areas inside are the dash and gauges. It looks as new as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. The attention to detail is obvious on the whole vehicle but that dash is really something to admire. Other notables inside are carpet, headliner, storage behind seats (spare behind driver), cloth and mohair, manual steering, manual brakes and a classic Plymouth steering wheel. The trunk has also been carpeted for your convenience.
This is a no-brainer for somebody looking for this particular car or for somebody that is looking to purchase a classic that needs absolutely nothing to be on the road today. If you are trying to dip your toes in the Classic Car world without breaking the bank then this is your key to the door.

History: Fun, Action, Thrills Find them in a Plymouth! That was the new message Plymouth was sending to customers. The Plymouth PJ was offered in a variety of configurations for 1935. Seen here as a two door business coupe, it was also offered as a 4 door and a rumble seat coupe. The 1935 model was remarkable, as the new design featured 4 wheel hydraulic brakes and was purported to use 20% less gasoline.
The car: The product of an older nut and bolt restoration, the deep black with contrasting red accents set this Plymouth apart from the 350,000 other PJ’s produced. The dark paint displays how laser straight the metal body is below its shine. The mohair interior shows only light use and is fit for this prewar relic. The engine and engine bay have been restored and returned to the factory condition. A great parade car or a car show delight, this Plymouth is a pristine example of prewar engineering.

The Plymouth De Luxe and Special De Luxe were full-sizedautomobiles which were produced by American manufacturer Plymouth during the 1933-42 and 1946-50 model years.
The Plymouth Deluxe Model PD appeared in 1933, shortly after the Plymouth Six Model PC which was the company's first six-cylinder automobile but offered a 107 in (2,718 mm) wheelbase versus 112 for the De Luxe.
It was an upscale alternative to the Plymouth Six (1933-1934), Business Six (1935-1938) and Roadking (1938-1940). In 1941, the Roadking name was dropped fort the low trim Plymouths, which were referred as P11 and not renewed in 1942, making the De Luxe, the entry level.
Between 1941 and 1950, the De Luxe was offered in two trim levels, the De Luxe and the top-of-the-line Special De Luxe. The engine in 1946 was a 95 bhp (71 kW) 217.8 cu in (3.6 L) Plymouth Straight Six. In 1949 this engine was upgraded to produce 97 bhp (72 kW).
