We’ve been LOVING TikTok recently and if you don’t already follow us you should right now by clicking here, because there are a ton of DIYs and How-To videos that we really love learning and sharing. But the beauty of TikTok can also be its downfall, since the videos move too fast to actually understand how to make something! Knowing this, we took some TikTok DIYs and made them ourselves, with all of the measurements and instructions on how to do it here on our blog.

The DIY we’re taking on today is this industrial IKEA hacked giant mirror from @itsbaileymarshall on TikTok that is such a great addition to our office! Check out how to make it below.

• Two sheets of plywood

• Three 2” x 4” pieces of wood

• Eleven pieces of trim wood (ours were 7/16” x 11/16” x 8’)

• Nine packs of IKEA LOTS mirrors

First, you’ll need to cut your two plywood sheets so that they can make one large sheet. Cut the first to 4’ long x 5.3’ wide and the second to 3.4’ long x 5.3’ wide.

Then, cut your 2” x 4” support beams to 7 feet, which will add support to the entire base so that your mirror is not wobbly. Screw these along the back of both sheets lengthwise about a foot in from the edge of the sheet to connect them together.

Cut another smaller 2” x 4” piece to 3 feet and screw over the horizontal seam where the plywood boards meet on the back. Fully assembled, you’ll want your entire base to be 7.4’ tall x 5.3’ wide. Now it’s time to add the trim!

Start by cutting two pieces of trim to 5.3 feet, which will be the top and bottom pieces of your border. Then cut six pieces to 7.3 feet long which will be your vertical pieces for the grid. Finally, cut 30 small trim pieces to be the horizontal inserts at 11.8 inches, or 30cm, long each. 

Now use some wood glue and a nail gun to nail in all of your grid pieces. Start with the top and bottom pieces along the borders, then add the vertical pieces, and lastly do the horizontal inserts. Each vertical piece should be evenly spaced at 11.8” starting from your two outside border pieces, so that the mirrors and horizontal trim will fit between snugly. You can also lay out your mirrors on the grid to get a better visual on how to make it fit just right!

Once your base is completely assembled, it’s time to paint this baby. We painted it a deep green colour using spray paint, ensuring to prime it with white first, but you can use any colour that fits your space! 

Once your base is dry, use the sticky tape that comes with the IKEA mirrors to stick each mirror into place, or you can use Mirror Mastic glue to to do this as well. Once they’re all secure, just move your mirror into place and admire this awesome IKEA hack DIY!

STACEY Solomon has revealed her hack for getting fashionable panel mirrors on a budget and it's actually very easy.

The mum-of-three, 31, showed herself doing some DIY on Instagram yesterday, while youngest son Rex was having a nap.

She said: "I'm going to try and make a giant mirror. I feel like I really need something in these big white spaces (in her living room) and I love those giant panel mirrors but they're so expensive.

"So I bought these black frames and mirrors from Ikea, all together cost £30 so I really hope I can make it look nice".

Stacey bought nine black frames and nine panel mirrors of the same size, costing £1.25 and £1 respectively, describing fitting the frames as "the most therapeutic thing ever".

To put that into context, Maisons du Monde charge £110 for a very similar nine panel mirror.

Stacey used command strips, a spirit level, a tape measure and a pencil to hang them up.

The Loose Women presenter explained: "I put a line in the middle then put two mirrors either side of the dot and worked from there..."

Stacey also added a mirror sticker from her sister the The Label Lady, which reads "You Are Enough".

She said: "My sister had the best idea ever to make it even more special - Love this".

Showing off the finished job, Stacey added: "I can't tell you how happy this is making me. I can't believe it. For £30 I'm soooo happy.

"I know it's sad but I just love it. I think I might put more labels. What do you think?

"My sister has made positive ones especially for mirrors and they're just so beautiful".

STACEY Solomon is no stranger to a little home DIY, so it's no surprise she found a savvy way to create a super chic feature mirror using cheap bits from Ikea.

The crafty mum-of-three, 31, impressed her followers when she revealed exactly how she did it using £1 picture frames and mirrors from the furniture store - but it turns out you can do it yourself for even cheaper.

The stylish window-style mirror has been popular of late, with many DIY-ers crafting their own - which has saved them an absolute mint considering it would cost hundreds to buy.

With simple black picture frames costing £1.25, and £1 mirrors which fit perfectly inside, Stacey, like many others, managed to whip it up for just £30.

But saving even more dosh on the thrifty project, TikTok user Haylie, who runs a home account, shows how to get the exact same look using just black paint - and it's pretty impressive.

She revealed the super chic design cost her just £21, that's £9 cheaper than Stacey's and much, much cheaper than the £200 she was looking at spending.

Demonstrating how she did it, Haylie used a couple of packs of Lots mirrors from Ikea which will set you back £7 for a pack of four.

You will also need black paint, frog tape, a pencil and a spirit level for good measure - seriously, you need it to measure.

She starts by measuring out the size and shape she wants on the wall using the frog tape - it's probably wise to check the width of the mirrors you're using before you take this step.

Haylie goes for a rather large rectangle - which fits four mirrors across - before painting the whole area black.

After peeling off the frog tape, Haylie says to mark out where you want to hang the mirrors - to ensure they're spaced evenly.

Then it's time to stick on the mirrors - and the best part about these particular ones is that they have self-adhesive double-sided pads included so you don't need to worry about finding a glue or tape that'll hold.

The black paint resembles the frames that would otherwise be used, but works out much cheaper - and looks pretty impressive.
