POWERBALL® tickets cost $2 per game.
POWERBALL® with Power Play® cost $3 per game.

How to Play Powerball®:

If you win the second prize level of $1 million and you have chosen Power Play®, your prize will be $2 million, no matter what Power Play®number is drawn. If you win a set cash prize on the bottom seven prize levels, you're guaranteed to multiply that amount 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times!

* The 10 times Power Play®multiplier is available when the annuity jackpot is less than $150 million unless otherwise announced.

See prize chart here.

For both POWERBALL® and Power Play®:
  • You may play up to 10 advanced drawings.
  • Please check your tickets carefully. These game tickets cannot be canceled.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Play up to 9:45 p.m. on drawing days.

How to play Powerball®

Powerball® is a multi-state jackpot game. Drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. During the drawing, six numbers are drawn: five white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number. Matching all six numbers wins the jackpot. There are eight other ways to match and win prizes up to $1 million. Each play costs $2. For an additional $1, players can purchase PowerPlay® to multiply all non-jackpot prizes, excluding the Match 5 + 0 prize, by 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, or other promotional number selected.

A Double Play® drawing will be held after each scheduled Powerball® drawing and offers an additional chance to match an additional set of numbers drawn. Double Play® costs an additional $1. PowerPlay® does not apply to Double Play®.

1 Pick your numbers

Select five different numbers (white balls) from 1 to 69 in the left play area and select one “POWERBALL®” (red ball) number from 1 to 26 in the right play area of the play slip. Use one panel (PLAY A - PLAY E) for each desired play. Each play costs $2.

2 Quick Pick

If you prefer having any or all of your numbers selected at random by the terminal, mark the “QUICK PICK” box for each play. All plays and play options selected on the play slip will be valid for the specified draw only.

3 PowerPlay®

Marking the ”POWERPLAY® OPTION” increases the cost of each play to $3. If you purchase “PowerPlay®” and win a prize, your prize, excluding the jackpot and Match 5 + 0 prize, will automatically be multiplied by the PowerPlay® number of 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, or other promotional number. Purchase PowerPlay® and match 5 white balls to win $2 MILLION. When the estimated jackpot is $150 MILLION or less, a “x10” PowerPlay® multiplier will be available. All non-jackpot prizes, including the match five white balls prize, may be reduced if claims exceed the available prize fund.

4 Double Play®

Choosing DOUBLE PLAY® adds $1 per play. The DOUBLE PLAY® drawing will be held after the scheduled POWERBALL® drawing and offers an additional chance to match an additional set of numbers drawn.

5 Multi-draws

Play up to 30 consecutive draws by marking the appropriate box under “MULTI-DRAW OPTION.” Each consecutive draw will cost $2 or $3 per draw with the PowerPlay® option. NOTE: Multi-draw selections will be consecutive from the draw date requested.

6 Sign the Back of the Ticket

Upon purchase, SIGN the ticket back and SECURE your ticket. Check your selections to make sure they are correct. Player is solely responsible for verifying all selections on the ticket. PRINTED POWERBALL® TICKETS CANNOT BE CANCELED.

Caution Icon DO NOT ERASE. If you make an error, mark the "VOID PLAY" box over the selected play.

How to Play Powerball

Playing is easy. To learn how, follow the 5 simple steps.

STEP 1

Using a Lottery playslip, which you can find at any Lottery retailer, pick 5 numbers between 1 and 69 and 1 Power Number between 1 and 26. You can also select Quick Pick®, or just ask the cashier for a Powerball Quick Pick, and the random number generator will choose the numbers for you.

To play the same numbers for consecutive draws, just mark Advance Play®.

Advance Play allows you to play multiple draws with one purchase.

You can play up to 10 consecutive draws on one playslip by marking the Advance Play box.

STEP 2

Pay $2 per play for each Powerball ticket. Your ticket is your receipt. Once it prints, the play cannot be cancelled or refunded.

STEP 3

Know the draw times. Powerball draws take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:59 p.m. Draw entry closes at 7 p.m. on the day of the draw.

STEP 4

Remember that Powerball has 9 winning ball combinations. The more numbers on your ticket that match the numbers drawn, the more you win.

STEP 5

Use any of these ways to see if you’re a Powerball winner:

  • Look on the Lottery website for winning numbers and prize amounts.
  • Download the Lottery mobile app to see winning numbers.
  • Scan your ticket using the Check-A-Ticket feature on the mobile app.
  • Use the Check-A-Ticket machine at a local Lottery retail location.
