Chase Elliott, the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion, will compete in the Camping World SRX Series season finale July 17 at the Nashville (Tenn.) Fairgrounds Speedway. He will join his father, Bill Elliott, in the race that will air live at 8 p.m. EDT on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+ Premium.

Chase won the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship and Bill won the 1988 Cup Series title. They are just the third father-son combo to win Cup Series championships, joining the Pettys (Lee: 1954, 1958, 1959 and Richard: 1964, 1967, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975 and 1979) and the Jarretts (Ned: 1961, 1965 and Dale: 1999).

“Racing is such a big part of our lives and I’m genuinely excited to compete with my dad in the SRX race at Nashville,” Chase said. “We’ve been together at racetracks hundreds of times and only once before have we competed on the same track together. It’s an awesome opportunity and I’m really looking forward to it.”

The lone time Chase and Bill competed together on the same track was on Oct. 20, 2013 in the Alabama Pro 125 Late Model race at South Alabama Speedway. Chase won and Bill finished fourth.

Both Elliotts have experience at Nashville. Chase raced at the half-mile speedway countless times in a Super Late Model, winning the prestigious All American 400 in 2013. Bill competed in seven Cup Series races at the track with a best finish of fifth in the 1983 Marty Robbins 420.

“My experience at Nashville is pretty dusty, so I might have to lean on Chase to give me some pointers from his time there in a Late Model,” Bill said. “It could be a bit of a role reversal with him teaching me.

“But it truly is a wonderful opportunity to be able to race with my son at Nashville. Obviously, I’m incredibly proud of all that he’s accomplished. For years, he watched me and now I’m watching him. But for one night in Nashville, we’ll both have the same viewpoint.”

The Camping World SRX Series races at Slinger (Wis.) Speedway this Saturday night before it caps its inaugural season at Nashville. Bill is one of the 10 regular drivers making up the 12-driver field in all six Camping World SRX Series races.

“Bill and I worked together for five years at Evernham Motorsports and Chase was always around during that time,” said Ray Evernham, co-founder of the Camping World SRX Series. “Bill was instrumental in helping get our race team established and competitive, and Chase saw his dad’s work effort firsthand. It’s an understatement to say how cool it’s been to see Chase grow up and become such a great racer. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.”

Bill raced for Evernham from 2001 through 2005 and the duo won four races together, including the 2002 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary racing prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

In the 2021 season, McClure nailed Martin Truex Jr. to win at Martinsville for a strong 3-1 payout. The model also nailed Kyle Larson winning the NASCAR All-Star Race at 5-2 and hit Larson again at the Ally 400 for another 5-2 payout. Then it nailed Chase Elliott to win at Road America for another 5-2 return. Anyone who has followed its lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns.

The model also called Stewart winning at Knoxville and then again the following week at Eldora. Now, it has dialed in on the SRX Series at Nashville race and released its projections.

We can tell you the model is high on Hailie Deegan, who is going off at 5-1 in the latest SRX at Nashville odds 2021. He's a target for anyone looking for a HUGE payday. And a massive shocker: Chase Elliott, one of the favorites and the 2020 NASCAR champion, stumbles and barely cracks the top three! There are far better values in this loaded Superstar Racing Experience field.

The model has also identified a big long shot who is set to make a surprising run for the checkered flag. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any SRX picks.

Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis aids Nashville businesses hurt by bombing: with $500G donation and new nonprofit fund

Millionaire entrepreneur and Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis has launched a nonprofit and donated $500,000 of his own money to benefit businesses damaged or destroyed by the Christmas Day bombing in Nashville.

Lemonis plans to work with local businesses impacted by the blast, which damaged dozens of properties near Second Avenue North in downtown Nashville with a new nonprofit, the Nashville 30 Day Fund.

“I would like to get a list of every local business that got wiped out from the explosion in Nashville. We will work together to provide solutions as a group... and find the funds necessary to rebuild and reopen #NashvilleStrong please help me put this together,” he wrote Saturday in the first of a series of tweets about the explosion.

Hours later, Lemonis announced that he was taking steps to help local businesses by creating a team dedicated to “providing cash/funding, insurance and real estate guidance,” among other things, he wrote on Twitter. He later added that he would be putting his own money toward clean-up and reparation efforts.

Lemonis launched the Nashville 30 Day Fund on Monday, with the business exec and television personality injecting $500,000 to get the nonprofit off the ground. The fund will provide qualifying people and businesses forgivable loans of up to $100,000.

"The Nashville 30 Day Fund is designed to be quick, easy, and free of red tape, as small business owners and individuals work to recover from the effects of the Christmas Day bombing in Nashville," the fund's website states. "All we ask in return: if you can, pay it forward.

He said Sunday that he and a team would be visiting the Music City on Wednesday “to start the process with business owners affected.”

“To those affected, you are not alone,” he tweeted at the time.

Three people were injured and the person believed to have been behind the attack, Anthony Quinn Warner, was killed.

Police said Warner was inside an RV parked on Second Avenue North near an AT&T building, when it began blaring an audio recording urging people nearby to evacuate and warning them that a bomb would detonate in minutes. The ominous recording then switched to Petula Clark’s "Downtown" before the explosion shortly thereafter.

Investigators have not yet announced an official motive for the attack.

On Wednesday, Lemonis shared photos and videos from Nashville and encouraged local business owners to meet with him and his team so they could begin the recovery process.

“We’re just trying to provide something and if you can help us support this effort we’d appreciate it,” he said in a video posted Wednesday afternoon. “Those funds will go directly to those affected.”

Camping World CEO contributes $500K to help Nashville businesses after bombing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Marcus Lemonis, the chairman and CEO of Camping World has launched a fund to help downtown Nashville business owners affected by the bombing Christmas morning.

More than 40 buildings were damaged after investigators say an Antioch man detonated a bomb inside of an RV near Second Avenue North and Commerce Street around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. The 63-year-old bomber was killed and three other people suffered minor injuries, according to Metro police.

Upon learning of the explosion and the resulting damage, Lemonis started the “30 Day Fund,” contributing $500,000 upon its creation. He said the fund was designed to be “quick, easy and free of red tape” as small business owners and individuals work to recover and explained “forgivable loans” of up to $100,000 would be provided.

Lemonis said the funds given to businesses do not need to be repaid, but added those recipients who wish to “pay it forward” are invited to provide additional funding at a later date to be given to another business owner.

The Camping World CEO, who is also a TV personality, said he and his team will visit Nashville Wednesday to assess the extensive damage caused by the explosion.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the downtown Nashville explosion. Anyone with information should call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip by clicking here.
