My Regal has had some coolant problems and I got them all fixed and started the car and let it run for 20 minutes then I put it back on the ramps to put the air dam back on. After shutting it off and putting the air dam back on it wouldn't start. It isn't a dead battery clicking from the starter it is a hammering clicking like the solenoid is throwing the sproket but the starter motor isn't spinning. So I took the starter off and went to a local parts store and had them bench test it and said it was good. So I went for the wiring and replaced the hot and ground wires and put new terminal ends on the cable and puyt the charger on the battery. I tried to start and still the same real loud clicking. I took the starter back off and got a new one. It does the same thing. I went through all of the troubleshooting of the wires chanking voltage and resistance with a digital multi meter and I had 12.3 volts on the battery and the starter and.5 ohms from the positive terminal on the battery to the starter and.6 ohms from the negative terminal to the starter chassis. I pulled the fan belt to turn the crankshaft a little. I turned the ignition and it started up twice. I put the air dam back on and it went back to the clicking. I tried the belt again and checked my wires again to make sure the air dam didn't affect my wires and it is all good. I am ready to give the car a stick of dynamite.
have the same problem?

Hello Carl
Do you have antitheft system on your vehicle? If yes, the problem maybe there, if no, the problem is electrical and I will help you find it.

I found the battery had a terminal worn thin and not thick enough to handle a big voltage dump for starting. I replaced the battery and it starts. I replaced the alternator to but it is not charging. I think I just fried the new alternator. I checked the hot wire on the back and it is directly to ground. I removed the wire and checked the voltage from the alternator while not grounded and it is only making 1.6 volts. I am now chasing a grounded hot wire. It all happened after removing the alternator to replace the heater hose elbows on the tensioner pulley. After I find the ground I am going to have to get a new alternator and then I should be good. I have a subscription to Alldatadiy. Com for tech manual. It says the car doesn't have a theft lock on it.

Thank you buddy, I'm happy you found the problem.
But if the problem should come again, please don't hesite to contact us, by the way, make sure your battery is fully charged above 12.4 v.

Thank you

The wire on the solenoid that comes from the alternator was on the wrong terminal. I wired it the same way as the one I took off but it grounded out the alternator. I have done alot of work and replaced alot of starters and even built vortec engines, but this is the first one that has really got me good in over 20 years.

2000 Buick Regal - Starter

A starter is an electric motor that engages your flexplate to spin your engine on startup. It includes a bendix, which is a spinning shaft that only extends when starting to mesh the starter gear with the flexplate or flywheel. Many starters also have a built-in solenoid that sends voltage to the starter when the key is turned. The starter or starter solenoid may wear out over time due to heat or contaminants. If you hear clicking but your engine won't turn over, it could be a weak starter motor, or your battery may be dead. If the starter spins but the motor does not, the bendix may not be engaging fully. In either case, the starter should be replaced. If you need a car battery, starter, alternator, or other starting and charging parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts carries the right parts for your repairs.

There are a number of issues that can go wrong with starting system and make your 2000 Buick Regal car won’t start or hard time to start – This article guides you through some of the facts behind the starting system, and the components that may be to blame, and tells you what action you can take to try to remedy each situation.

No lights on the 2000 Buick Regal dashboard

If no lights coming on in the dashboard and no other electrical consumers work, the battery could be completely dead or there is no connection between the battery and the vehicle electrical system. Check if the battery terminals look tight. If the battery is completely dead, jump starting might help.

2000 Buick Regal the key won’t turn in the ignition

If the key won’t turn in the ignition, it could be for a couple of reasons: Often this happens when the steering is locked by the ignition lock with the front wheels turned aside or when one of the front wheels is pushed against something. In this case, try turning the steering wheel left and right while gently jiggling the ignition key – this might help to release the steering lock.

2000 Buick Regal No Start, No Sound, No Crank when you turn the key in the ignition:

If nothing happens when you turn the ignition key to the “Start” position, it means that the starter motor doesn’t turn over the engine. Most commonly this could be caused by a low/dead battery or there is no connection between the battery and starter.

Check the battery and the terminal cable connections. If they look really corroded, you need to clean the battery posts and cable connectors or replace the cables and try to start the engine. Also check the starter. The solenoid attached to the top of the starter can fail, as well as the components inside. Replace starter solenoid, starter contacts, starter assembly or repair starter circuit as required.

The 2000 Buick Regal car makes a clicking noise but won’t start:

If you turn the key to the “Start” position, but the engine won’t crank; all you hear is a single click or repeated clicking coming from the engine compartment. Very often this could be caused by a low battery or poor connection between the battery and starter.

The 2000 Buick Regal  engine cranks over but won’t start:

There are many possible causes, but we know it is neither a battery nor a starter problem. Just remember: a vehicle will always require air, fuel, and the ignition to operate.

Check the fuel. You may be out of fuel, or the fuel isn’t getting to your engine. If the wrong amount of fuel is being injected into the combustion chamber, or being injected at the wrong time, the engine will not start. Again, this will be a case where the engine cranks over, but will not actually run. This could be caused by a few different parts including the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, and fuel lines. Some of those options are a stretch, but do have an effect on the system. Start with the fuel injectors, and make sure they are clean.

If it’s not a fuel problem, the electrical spark isn’t getting through to the spark plugs. Check the spark. Without spark to ignite the fuel mix in the combustion chamber, the engine will not start. It will turn over or “crank over” but will never actually run.  Spark issues are not limited to the plugs. Check the spark plug wires, the distributor or module, and plug gap. These all have a huge effect on the function of the ignition system.

From time to time a light rain froze, it was very cold to sit on the bench. but there was no place to go to get warm. Lena's parents would definitely not approve of the appearance of this school friend at her house - because for many reasons they considered him an unsuitable couple for her.

She already spent many times with her parents, explaining to them that she was not going to marry him. Nevertheless, they were constantly afraid that sooner or later this school friend would "seduce her", and then they would be powerless to change something.
