The Detective Pikachu amiibo Is HUGE!

Detective Pikachu for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems is a Pokémon adventure unlike any other. (Check out our preview to learn more about it!) It seems only fitting that such a unique game gets an equally unique accessory to go with it. The Detective Pikachu amiibo figure is not just a beautifully sculpted representation of the charming character, but thanks to its incredible size, it's bound to become the centerpiece of your amiibo collection.

Measuring in at just over 5 inches tall (including its base), the Detective Pikachu amiibo is mighty impressive. Check out the map that decorates the base and the texturing on his iconic hat, which does a fantastic job of making plastic feel like stiff felt. Of course, it's the amiibo's size that stands out above all else, so we wanted to look at how this cool piece stacks up against other household items.

Pikachu Meets Detective Pikachu

The Pikachu amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series has been around for quite some time now. In fact, you may have one decorating a shelf at this very moment. As great as that amiibo is, however, it can't help but look a little, well, little when standing next to Detective Pikachu.

The Detective Is on the Game Case!

Anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS system is very familiar with these game cases. Actually, you'll get another one of them when you pick up your physical copy of Detective Pikachu. As you can see, the Detective's amiibo is taller than the boxes that will be used to store his own game!

Detective Pikachu Has a System

To utilize the Detective Pikachu amiibo, players must place it over a New Nintendo 3DS system's near-field communication reader under the lower screen. (A special adapter can be bought for Nintendo 3DS systems.) Just don't lose sight of the system—as you can see here, the New Nintendo 3DS is in danger of being eclipsed by this giant amiibo!

Switching Things Up

So, the Detective Pikachu amiibo may be taller than a Nintendo 3DS game case, but how does it stack up next to one for Nintendo Switch? Well, it's not quite as tall as the game case, but given the amiibo's girth and how skinny the case is, we'd still put our money on Detective Pikachu in a fight.

It's in the Cards

We see Pokémon Trading Card Game cards as fun collectibles that sport fantastic artwork of our favorite Pokémon. Detective Pikachu probably sees them as a vast catalog of potential witnesses and suspects. However you look at them, though, there's no denying that this amiibo looms over them.

Goes Great with Coffee

So is the Detective Pikachu amiibo the largest amiibo of all time? We suppose that really depends on your definition of an amiibo now, doesn't it? This box of Super Mario Cereal (which does function as an amiibo) is certainly larger than Detective Pikachu. Probably tastier, too.

Detective Pikachu Meets His Match

Lest the Detective Pikachu amiibo start to get too overconfident about how large it is...

Pikachu Boxart

This Larsa Twin. I can't look at her. And now, when there are two young men on the voyage, twirling their tails like that, I dressed up in a ball gown already.

Now discussing:

Around the buildings with sadness. The massive parking building and the crumbling frames of high-rise buildings surrounding it, incomprehensible brown heaps resembling petrified dinosaur shit, many rotted skeletons of ancient self-propelled vehicles and seemingly eternal asphalt. Roads - nothing caught her eye. Again and again, the girl returned in her thoughts to the night before, which meant so much to her.

And, just think, right after that the hunter allowed herself to leave them.
