Candlewood Suites Reading is located along Penn Avenue and Santander Arena is 1.7 mi away. There are shops, restaurants and bars within a 1.2 mi radius of the property. Wow I don’t even know where to begin.. I have nothing but nice things to stay.. from our check in to check out, it was perfect. The facility is exceptionally clean and updated. The gentleman that checked us in deserve a promotion. The amount showing on their end was a bit higher than what booking is, without any hassle, he contacted booking and fixed the issue. This is my birthday trip, and also a trip to look at apartments around the area since we’re relocating. We ended up booking an additional stay. The barbecue grill is not that clean but when we told them about the oil catching on fire, they cleaned it the following day. I honestly can’t think of anything bad. The TV is updated that we’re able to plug in our Fire-Stick. The WiFi is flawless so we’re able to watch movies without any problem with our Fire TV.

I have never seen dirty more unsafe hotel than the Econ Lodge in Reading PA. The smell of cleaning fluids was so over powering that my eyes were watering, Entering the room I found the smoke/fire detector was missing and the bare wires taped up with electrical tape. The Bathroom had no toilet paper dispenser (missing) The room security lock had been forced open so many times that it was just hanging by one loose screw. All the older holes were torn and no longer functional. The window was open when I arrived and when I tried to close it it almost fell out. I was going to check for bed bugs but this was place was such a complete horror to me I could not get out of there fast enough. I asked for my money back and I was told they would refund my second night but not the first because I was in the room. I reported the fire violations to the local fire dept. Warning this place is not someplace you want to put your head down for the night.
