Doesn't practice what they preach

After several years at Kustom Seating I developed a love hate relationship with the place. Main reason I did not love it was because of how employees were taken for granted. They were not compensated fairly, (getting a raise was worse than pulling teeth) nor was there any type of recognition; yet they were expected to go above and beyond. They do not conduct employee reviews because that could mean potential increases and since they do not like to pay out, unless absolutely necessary, the closest you would get to a review is if you were being reprimanded. Most of the personnel is great and easy to work with, with is why I loved the place, yet many are unhappy and that was demonstrated almost daily. The main reason most people were unhappy is because they aren't compensated fairly. Income inequality is a big problem at Kustom Seating Unlimited. Those in management make so much money that those on the production can barely afford the health insurance. If they could fix that problem and become more employee oriented, find a way to maintain their employees, compensate ALL fairly and recognize them, it would a great place to work for. Unfortunately the focus is on production and getting the product out the door at any cost. They love to say around there: "the most valuable asset any company has is it's employees" yet they don't treat their employees that way.

KIEL Group and Kustom Seating Unlimited form alliance

The KIEL Group and Kustom Seating Unlimited, Inc., Chicago, are pleased to announce that effective November 25th, they formed a new alliance KSU N.A., LLC for the Design, Manufacturing and Distribution of passenger seats to the Bus and Rail Markets in North America.

“KSU N.A., LLC is anoth important milestone for the Kiel Group on its way to a globally leading supplier for passenger seating systems”, says Gerhard Hellweg, CEO of the Kiel Group. “The management team of Kiel and the employees are very much looking forward to meeting the exciting market requirements in North America.”

 This new alliance KSU N.A., LLC will provide Kiel seats such as CITOS and INTRA for the City Transit Market. Products like CITOS are developed specifically for the North American Market and provide superior safety standards and lower weight compared to current competitors. 

KSU N.A., LLC has supplied passenger seating to the railways in the USA Transit Market for over 30 years. The company is registered ISO and has a sqf manufacturing base located in Bellwood IL., a suburb of Chicago, providing full capabilities to manufacture seats including processes like metal fabrication (stainless steel and stainless tubular assemblies), cutting, sewing, upholstery, gluing and final assembly. The company also provides full testing capabilities for all currently supplied seats to the rail market.

KSU N.A., LLC employs people which includes an engineering team of 10 people.
