MultiPod Adaptor
K1600 GT/GTL, R1200 RT (2010 - 2013) & R1200 RT LC (2014 - on)
This adapter allows easy and secure attachment of our versatile MultiPod system. It is made of high quality machined stainless steel and it simply replaces the original handlebar attachment bolt of the K1600 GT/GTL or 2010 and later R1200 RT. Once installed, the MultiPod can be attached to this adapter.
The MultiPod allows a secure and fully adjustable basis to attach a camera or most any other electronic device.

Great adaptor for adding a RAM mount to R1250RT!
This adaptor made the installation of a RAM phone holder to the handlebars of my 2021 BMW R1250RT simple and quick. The resulting mount is rock solid. Saves a lot of time as well as trial and error fitment. A little pricey but worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Mixed feelings.
While this is a great product, I had trouble installing it; one side went in easily but the other side was a fight, as if the thread pitch was off a hair. I removed the adapter and checked it against the bolt and it appeared to be the same - If I had metric taps I would have chased it to clean it out just to make it easier to install. The second issue is that the bolts supplied with it, while very pretty, are too long and bottom out, leaving 6-8 millimeters of thread exposed. This may work for some applications, but I wanted to mount RAM adapters to it, and had to buy shorter bolts.

Multipod Adapter 2016 R1200RT
Fits perfectly. Positions my phone exactly where I wanted it. Ridiculously easy to install. If you are using a Ram brand bolt through ball you will need a longer M8 bolt than is provided with the Multipod Adapter. I have the TackForm phone cradle system which uses all aluminum parts and the M8 bolt provided with this adapter fits perfectly. Great product!

Impeccable quality, price however is ridiculous
I have given this product three stars because there is no way to separate the two polar opposite feelings I have about it. 1) Yes, the fancy screw (sorry "Multipod Adaptor") is impeccably machined, functions perfectly, and is a very slick solution to putting a Ram Ball mount on the handlebars of my BMW K1600GTL. Well done! Five stars! 2) $29 plus tax and shipping for a screw... WTF. Yes, you have a well-designed part that I needed and no one else supplied. Supply & Demand and all that... But more than $30 for a screw? Come on! Even for BMWs where everything is inflated that's ridiculous price gouging. 1 star, I'd give it negative if I could. There you go, the average of 5 and 1 is 3, a three star review.

Your part plus a Ram Ball - perfect
This part is exactly what I needed to amount my phone to my K1600GTL. This plus the Ram Ball that takes an 8mm Bolt worked perfect! Simply adding the Ram arm and finger clamp and I’m up and running. Looks and works great.

MultiPod Adaptor
Needed a mount for a Ram Mount iPhone Universal X-Grip and the MultiPod Adaptor worked perfectly. Remove the old BMW bolt, add a bit of Loctite to the MultiPod Adaptor and tighten. Simple, quick and looks OEM. Highly recommend.
Muito Pratico
Infelizmente comprei errado, minha RT 2008 no serviu,
Multipod adapter R1200RTW
very well made. Mounted Spot Locater holder on left handlebar. A very sturdy mount looks good on the bike. A little pricey but nice .
Quality piece of hardware
Worked exactly as advertised...provided an attachment point for the MultiPod where none exist in the 2014 R1200RT cockpit. The product could be improved IMO with the head machined to accept a socket rather than an open end wrench in order to get the correct torque on it with a normal tool set.
Great Fit
Bought 2 to support a bracket to hold a 2nd GPS on my 2014 R1200RT , fit was perfect and provides plenty of stability.

The BMW R1200RT is a touring motorcycle that has been around since 2005. There have been one major design change since then. Because of the lack of traditional handlebar where there’s some spare mounting space, this motorcycle is a bit more challenging to mount a phone, GPS, camera or drink holder.
The photo that accompanies this article is a BMW R1200RT. This motorcycle owner has overcome the challenge of mounting his stuff. He has a Garmin Zumo 590LM mounted to the fairing. There’s a RAM X-Grip phone holder mounted to the center of where the handlebars attach. The bottle of water wasn’t in a holder but he has several options to do that. There are options to attach a holder to the reservoir cover as well as the gas tank cover.
So let’s look at some options for phone, GPS, camera and drink mounts for a BMW R1200RT. Most of the mounts recommended will fit all years. Some may not, especially those for 2014 to the current year. Be sure to check the specifications as it pertains to your model BMW R1200RT.
Consider the Techmount BMW RT Motorcycle Center Mount with Techgripper. This mount is excellent for a cell phone or GPS. The metal mount attaches to the upper two bolts that hold the handlebar. The end of the mount has a 17mm ball which is the exact size of the back of a Garmin Nuvi cradle. The included TechGripper cradle is one of my favorites for use with a smartphone or GPS. There is a socket on the back which fits onto the ball part of the mount. The cradle is heavily spring loaded and opens to over four inches. This is going to be large enough to fit almost any smartphone with or without a case or skin.
The next mount to consider uses the Ram Mount Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base with M8 Screws base. This base attaches a one inch rubber ball to an M8 bolt. This bolt size is common to most BMW motorcycle center mounted handlebars. There are three different length screws with this base and you will select the length that matches your installation.
The reservoir cover is the next place to put a mount. The photo that accompanies this article shows the cover with four screws on a BMW R1200RT. The RAM Mounts Motorcycle Brake/Clutch Reservoir Cover Base with 1″ Ball. This base doesn’t replace the reservoir cover. It attaches to it using the replacement screws included with the base. Be sure to follow the instructions included for the proper installation.
For most phones, attached to the RAM base will be the RAM X-Grip Cradle with Standard Arm for 1″ Balls. We are big fans of the X-Grip cradle and wrote an extensive article on this line. This cradle will open up to 3.25 inches and will hold most phones. We appreciate the safety tether that comes with the X-Grip holder for added security. The included arm attaches the cradle to the ball on top of the clamp base we just discussed. The X-Grip cradles in a lot of different sizes to fit phones all the way up to the largest tablet. I wouldn’t exceed anything larger than a large phone or a GPS on a BMW R1200RT. I think that anything larger will block the controls.
For a drink holder, you can also turn to RAM and attach the RAM Mounts Drink Cup Holder with Arm. This includes an innovative self leveling drink holder. This is perfect for holding a bottle of water securely. The arm fits the one inch ball on either of the bases we just discussed. Once attached to the ball, there is a ball and socket adjustment points at the base and the cup holder.
The locations we discussed are the best for mounting a GPS, phone or drink on a BMW R1200RT. Both RAM and TechMount have been around a long time, make their mounts in the USA and offer great warranties with their products.

R1200RT Ram Mounts
I ride in the higher seat and decided to raise the handlebars with the Iiium handlebar risers. Suddenly I realized that now I have the perfect place for two Ram Mounts which otherwise can't be mounted on the 2017 R1200RT handlebars. I like having a place to mount my iphone so I can listen to Sirius XM radio already on my iphone. That way I don't have to pay another $14 a month to listen to satellite radio on the R1200RT radio. So, if you are looking for a way to use Ram Mounts on this motorcycle and want to raise the handlebars, use the Ilium product.

If you're listening to XMSirius on your iPhone I think you're dependent on having the signal delivered via cellular data, and not satellite.Originally Posted by 1downfourup

Yes... I do have unlimited data on my phone to use cell service to get satellite radio. Really, the only point I wanted to make is that this is a way to add Ram Mounts to the 2017 R1200RT handlebars.

Wonderlich also makes a bracket replacing the bar clamp (near the handlebar switch cluster) that fastens the clutch and/or brake fluid reservoir. If you have the optional pushbutton in that clamp (usu. on left), an alternate part # has the switch opening also. The result is a bit less height for the RAM 1" ball, and a bit more flexibility in positioning.
P.S. Can anyone tell me how to "edit" a photo, once uploaded, to rotate it to the correct orientation?

Another RAM Mount Alternative
There's another mounting location for a RAM mount on an R1200RT-LC. It requires the purchase of a very expensive ($28) fitting from Wunderlich (See: http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/mot...e/1250269.html). That piece is mounted into either side of the handlebar, and then the RAM mount is placed in it. Here's a photo:

Looking at the video and the components, it isn't expensive for what it is. Nice, thanks exG.

Does it fit a standard Ram Ball? Bolt size?
Thanks,

The Wonderlich bar brake-reservoir clamp replacement takes an M10x1.5 bolt. RAM makes a 1" ball-on-bolt that fits right in.Originally Posted by skibumwi

Also .... in lieu of the Wunderlich mirror adapters you can use the front half of the GSA switch gear which in my opinion have a nicer finish than the Wunderlich. I ordered the Wunderlich but my dealer had a nicer set up and when I inquired he explained they were GSA parts that fit perfectly! My parts manager orders me up a set and I am not a very happy camper with 2 spots to mount Ram-mounts. The bar risers are on order.
