Introduction: Summoning Jutsu Hand Signs

Im gonna show you the hand signs to Summoning Jutsu from Naruto. Summoning Jutsu allows people to summon slugs (Tsunade), Snakes (Orochimaru), and best of all, TOADS (Jariya, Naruto)
PS: I know i spelled Jiryas name wrong

WARNING: THIS JUTSU REQUIRES A BLOOD OFFERING, USE AT OWN RISK

Step 1: Hand Signs

Since im gonna show you the hand signsfor this jutsu i thought why not show you all the hand signs just in case you ever need them

Step 2: Boar

OK now to the hand signs. the first hand sign is BOAR, just clap your hands together and then bend your fingers and then turn your hand upsidedown

Step 3: Dog

The next hand sign is DOG, easy enough, just put one hand into a fist and clap the other hand on top of it

Step 4: Bird

Next its BIRD, just put your hands together like in the pic, keep the tips of your middle fingers touching, and curl your index fingers together

Step 5: Monkey

After that its MONKEY, just put your hands on top of eachother, facing different directions, and put your thumb over you little finger on one side, and your thumb under your little finger on the other side

Step 6: Ram

And finally RAM. By the way, a Ram is a Sheep, just put your hands in a gun shape and put your hands together one hand over the other like in the pic

Step 7: SUMMONING JUTSU!

Now you know how to do summoning Jutsu. Also, I should tell you that i got the idea for this from a kid on instructables named gaaraofthedesert. He did an instructable on Fireball Jutsu. Thanks for the idea dude :)

Every Naruto Hand Sign (& What They Mean)

Being a ninja is tough, even when it involves eating bowl after bowl of ramen. For Naruto Uzumaki's peculiar ninja world, the stress is double; he usually has to deal with an emo best friend who loves to disappear apart from dealing with other ninja lessons. Some of them can even be too theoretical to be fun. In Naruto's world, specifically in the Hidden Leaf Village of Konoha, one has to memorize a lot before finally being able to practice being a ninja.

It just so happens that ninjutsu and genjutsu (two of the main ninja disciplines in Naruto) require lots of textbook knowledge. Nearly each and every technique of the two disciplines is based on twelve basic hand signs or seals. Do a bit of math and the possible combinations are comfortably in the millions, even if repetition were to be disallowed! Luckily, fans can quickly learn the meaning of those hand signs so they can start their ninja training right away. Hey, no one said it was easy wanting to be a Hokage.

Updated on June 30th, 2021 by Amanda Bruce: Eagle-eyed Naruto fans will notice that not all jutsu completed in the manga or anime are done with a simple thought. They require intense practice and specific movements on the part of the characters. Fans who want to learn some of those movements can use the 12 basic hand signs used in the series to figure out just how to create their favorite jutsu, though they won't create the same magical bursts of power in the real world.

12 TORI (BIRD)

Tori, or Bird, is based on the Chinese zodiac sign, the Rooster. As such, this Naruto hand sign represents the element of Wind or the Wind Release nature transformation. It allows the user to procure wind-based ninjutsu techniques. One of the most prominent users of this hand sign or the techniques associated with it is Naruto himself, especially when using Rasengan.

The hand sign is quite simple but confusing in fast and precise motions. The middle finger and pinky have to form an angular arch while making your ring finger and index fingers intersect; meanwhile, the thumbs need to touch tips.

11 I (BOAR)

I, or Boar, is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the Pig. It is not crucial for any particular basic nature transformation technique. Nevertheless, it is quite essential to a successful summoning jutsu (the one first introduced to Naruto by Jiraiya to summon giant sentient toads).

At first glance, it looks easy but a shinobi might actually strain their muscles first trying it out. They have to form a partial fist and stick their palms together while keeping their forearms parallel to the ground. It's really effective for summoning a dual carpal tunnel syndrome.

10 INU (DOG)

Inu, or Dog, is - unsurprisingly - based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the same animal. Like Tori, the hand sign is also instrumental in nature transformation techniques; this one is for the Water Release.

As such, a lot of water-proficient ninjas, such as Zabuza and Kisame, use this hand sign a lot. Inu is one of the easiest hand signs to perform. It only involves placing the left open palm atop the right fist.

9 TATSU (DRAGON)

Also known as the Dragon, the Tatsu is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the same creature. It has no attached elemental property to it, meaning it's not needed as a precursor for nature transformation jutsu. However, when used in conjunction with those, it produces a dragon-shaped manifestation of that particular element.

RELATED: 10 Most Rewatchable Naruto Episodes

It's fancy, sure, but the cost is giving the shinobi some nasty cramps in their fingers. It's quite difficult for a normal human to perform the hand sign since it requires stacking four of the half-closed fingers alternately with both pinkies sticking out at the bottom and touching at the tips.

8 USAGI (HARE)

The Hare, or Usagi in Japanese, is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the Rabbit. It's not necessary for basic nature transformation but it's commonly used by Sasuke or Kakashi whenever they are channeling the Chidori or lightning hands.

The hand sign is quite easy on paper but confusing in practice. A shinobi can do it by forming a finger pistol with the left index finger and thumb sticking out while sliding the right pinky between them; easy, right?

7 UMA (HORSE)

The Uma, which is Japanese for the Horse, is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the same animal. Again, it's unnecessary for basic nature transformation release but Sasuke can be seen commonly using the hand sign for his Fireball technique. It's also used in dispelling illusory genjutsu techniques.

It's not as difficult as the Tatsu but a shinobi will need to stretch their fingers quite a bit to do it successfully. The index fingers must connect at the tips while you stack the other finger's knuckles with the right digits always at the top. Both palms must also face inward.

6 SARU (MONKEY)

Saru is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the Monkey. Again, it holds no vital importance to nature transformation release but Sasuke (again) uses it quite a lot in the first two phases of channeling his Chidori. Sasuke sure knows his hand signs, which contributes to his fighting ability in the series.

Doing the Saru is pretty simple. One will only need to slide their right pinky between their left thumb and index finger while putting your palms together horizontally.

5 USHI (OX)

Ushi, or Ox, is based on the Chinese zodiac's corresponding animal. It's not required for use in any nature transformation release but a lot of ninjas still use the Ox in plenty of fire jutsu or techniques, particularly Sasuke and his older brother Itachi; basically every big name on the Uchiha family tree.

RELATED: 10 Things Boruto Does Better Than Naruto

The Ushi is quite powerful when paired with Fire Release but it can be quite disorienting to perform. A shinobi will have to stick all their fingers out, minus the thumbs, and cross them together without closing them. The left hand has to be on the outward side while the right hand is inward. Then, lay the left ring and middle fingers on the back of the right hand - don't forget to keep the forearms horizontal!

4 HITSUJI (RAM)

The Histuji is based on the Chinese zodiac sign the Goat. While not a requirement of basic nature transformation releases, the Ram is probably one of the more frequently seen and iconic hand signs in Naruto. That's because Naruto himself uses it a lot when summoning his shadow clones.

The Ram is even one of the most noticeable hand sign steps whenever Naruto is doing the shadow clone jutsu. All a shinobi has to do to perform the Ram is raise their left and right index and middle fingers upright and stick them together with the right fingers sliding lower. They also have to overlap the left ring finger and pinky over the right ones.

3 NE (RAT)

Ne or Nezumi, which is Japanese for Rat, is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the equivalent animal. Like many of the hand signs, it's also not crucially associated with any nature transformation release but it's a prominent hand sign of the Nara clan, where Shikamaru comes from. It's an important part of their Shadow Imitation Techniques which is distinct for them.

RELATED: 10 Hilarious Naruto Memes Only True Fans Will Love

Performing the Rat hand sign is quite a breeze; a shinobi only has to raise their left index and middle finger before wrapping their right fingers around them while keeping the left index finger looser than the others.

2 MI (SNAKE)

The Mi is based on the Chinese zodiac sign of the Snake. This hand sign is actually one of the busiest ones in the franchise since it is associated with Earth, Lightning, and Wood Releases. As such, you'll often see the Snake used in many powerful ninjas' signature jutsu.

Due to being a key hand sign in a lot of techniques, the Mi is arguably the easiest hand sign to perform. All one has to do is stick their open hands together upright and then intertwine their fingers as if in prayer.

1 TORA (TIGER)

Finally, Tora is based on the Chinese zodiac of the Tiger. It's a necessary precursor for the Fire and Earth Releases. The Tora is definitely the coolest albeit one of the most straightforward hand signs ever. It's often used by Sasuke in his clan's signature fire jutsu.

Performing the Tora is a no-brainer for a shinobi. They clasp their hands together and intertwine their fingers as they would in prayer, but with their forearms horizontal. From there, just raise the left and right index and middle fingers, then keep them together. Don't forget to take a deep breath before that ball of fire!

How to: Basic Naruto Hand-Signs!

•How to: Basic Naruto Hand-Signs•

Hello-o! It's Razz, and I wanted to do something unique. I'm a bit of a nerd, and have always tried (and failed) to do and learn some of the jutsu signs in Naruto.

I hope that y'all are nerds like I am, and enjoy recreating jutsus too :>

As a bonus, I'll be showing the basic signs of:

- Shadow Clone Jutsu

- Chidori

- Katon - Fireball Jutsu

- Summoning Jutsu

Before I tell you that, we're going to have to learn the basic hand signs. (And how to do them)

user uploaded image

•Basic Hand Signs•

Alrighty, so there's 12 basic Jutsu signs. There are special signs for unique jutsus (like Ino's Mind Transfer Jutsu) but this is just the basic set. I apologize if some are a tidbit confusing! (Some were difficult to describe). Also, make sure to refer to the image above if you get stuck.

EX: •Animal (Romaji word for animal)•

•Ox (Ushi)•

For this sign, you take your left hand and lay it horizontally (see picture). Take your right hand and weave your fingers in between your left hands'. Take the middle and ring finger lay it on your right hand.

•Dog (Inu)•

This one is fairly simple. All you have to do is take your left hand and curl it into a fist. Lay it horizontally. Then, take your right hand and lay it flat on the top of your left hand!

•Boar (I)•

This is also very simple. Take both your hands and curl your fingers (and thumb) but keep the first segment of them straight. Join your hands and point them downwards.

•Serpent (Mi)•

Easiest one of all, probably. All you have to do is clasp your hands together. (Like when Nagato performs Rinne Rebirth).

•Hare (U)•

Take your right hand and make a finger gun (If you don't know what that is, simply do the same thing that you would if you were to point at something, but instead keep the thumb straight up). Lay your left hand horizontally. Take your left hand and curl all your fingers inwards except for the pinky.

•Ram (Hitsuji)•

Ah, the classic. This is the one you'll always see Naruto do when forming his fabulous Kage Bunshins. Anyway, take both of your hands and make a peace sign, but the middle and index fingers are joined. Slide your left hand between your right hand pinky, ring, and thumb. Curl the left hand's fingers around the right hand, and do the same for the right hand.

•Tiger (Tora)•

This one is pretty easy. Form the Serpent sign (scroll up a bit) but keep your index fingers and thumbs pointed up.

•Rat (Ne)•

Take your right hand and form a peace sign, but with the middle and index fingers joined. Take your left hand and curl your fingers around the middle and index fingers. (To be more detailed, your left hand's fingers should only be curled around the middle finger. The thumb curls around the index finger).

•Monkey (Saru)•

Very simple. Just take your right hand and lay it horizontal to yourself. Lay your left hand on top. Curl the left hand's thumb around the right hand's pinky. Do the same for the right hand's thumb.

•Horse (Uma)•

This one is pretty tough, so bear with me on this. (I suggest referring to the image a lot). Take both your hands and make the same shape you would if you were to point at something, but keep the first segment of them straight. Bend your thumbs so it's curled onto the side of your hands. Separate your fingers (besides thumb) a little bit. Now comes the hardest part!

Take your hands and "stack" your fingers (excluding thumb & index). Stack them on top of eachother's first joints. If that's confusing, look at your fingers. The first part where it bends (no, not the knuckles, a bit higher) is where you stack your fingers. Now just point the index fingers together to make a triangle.

user uploaded image

•Dragon (Tatsu)•

Take your hands and insert your fingers together. Each finger should be in between another finger. The two pinkies should be joined together. The two thumbs should be overlapped, with the left thumb on top.

user uploaded image

•Bird (Tori)•

Take both hands, and make the "surfer dude" sign. If you don't know what that is, just point your thumb and pinky outwards and keep your index finger pointed upward. Your middle and ring finger stays curled downward.

Alright, now connect your index fingers and pinkies. Take your thumbs and bend them so the second joints are put together, and the nails are facing each other. Now, sort of do the same thing when you make the "Dragon" sign. Stack the middle and ring fingers on top of each other. (If you look at the image, the middle finger of your right hand should be the first finger).

Yosh! Now, onto the jutsus themselves.

(Note that a lot of the time, the jutsus often are shortened in the shows. These are the longer ways to do them.

•Shadow Clone Jutsu•

The normal hand signs for this jutsu is:

Ram, Serpent, and Tiger

(I say normal, because what Naruto does is only one sign).

•Chidori•

Ox, Hare, Monkey

Or (if you want the challenge)

Monkey, Dragon, Rat, Bird, Ox, Serpent, Dog, Tiger, Monkey

•Fire Style - Fireball Jutsu•

Serpent, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger

•Summoning Jutsu•

Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram

Then bite your thumb and slam it on the ground!

Aaaaand thank you for reading! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and drop a like if you did!

-Razz

(PS: If you saw the Zabuza episode, some jutsus can get intense. Did you see the number of signs in that Water Dragon Jutsu? Sweet Hokage).

Naruto Hand Signs and Jutsu

Naruto Uzumaki Shadow Clone Technique

Naruto is preparing his famous Shadow Clone technique using one of the most famous Naruto hand signs.

Naruto Hand Signs, also called Hand Seals, are used by ninjas to manipulate their chakra, the inner energy that is used to create ninja techniques(Jutsu). Each ninja technique requires one or more Hand Signs to be performed in a certain order.

Naruto Hand Signs were inspired by the Hand Seals of Bhuddism and Hinduism, which are used for meditation and religious purposes, and (unfortunately) are not able to call forth fireballs or control water.

The twelve general Naruto Hand Signs used by most all ninjas.

There are twelve basic Naruto Hand Signs that all ninja can perform, each of which is named after one of the twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Most ninja techniques require a series of these Hand Signs to be performed, but a skilled ninja can reduce the amount of Hand Signs needed. For example, the powerful Water Dragon Jutsu was initially shown to require 44 Hand Signs, but Tobirama Senju, the second Hokage, was able to perform the technique with just one. Some Naruto Hand Signs are also associated with certain elements. For example, many Fire jutsu end with the Tiger sign which represents fire.

Ino Yamanaka Mind Transfer Technique

Summoning Technique
Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke performing Summoning techniques.

While the twelve basic Hand Signs are universally used, some techniques require different Hand Signs. Summoning techniques usually requires the user to slam their hand against the ground to perform the summoning while clone techniques have the user make a cross with their middle and index fingers on each hand. Some techniques even require a completely unique Hand Sign, such as the Mind Transfer ninjutsu used by Ino Yamanaka and the rest of her family.

Other Naruto Hand Signs are not used for ninjutsu, but as a signal from ninja to ninja indicating comraderie.

Haku seals

Whether general or special, very skilled ninja can even perform Naruto Hand Signs with only one hand to leave the other open for combat. Others master a certain ninjutsu or overall ninjutsu to a point where they don't even need to use Naruto Hand Signs anymore. The hands used to complete a seal do not necessarily need to be your own. Ninjas can work together, to create a Hand Sign if one is otherwise unable, or can also be forced into collaborating. This means that some Naruto Hand Signs also require more than two hands to perform.

Gamabunta
Gamabunta releases the Liquid Bullets ninjutsu

Most ninjas are skilled in the use of ninjutsu, which molds chakra into certain shapes and under specific elemental properties for use in battle. This sounds complicated, but ninjutsu can be as simple as shooting a fireball at your opponent. The second most common type of technique is genjutsu, used to make opponents see illusions. While other types of techniques do exist, such as kenjutsu (sword techniques) and shurikenjutsu (thrown weapon techniques), they appear much less frequently. These techniques are not limited to humans either; summoned animals and Tailed Beasts also have the ability to use Naruto Hand Signs.

Sasuke Hand signs

Without Naruto Hand Signs, chakra is next to useless for a ninja. Ninjas serve as security for their villages and the counties they live in, operating as a sort of laid-back mix between military and police. Without their special powers, the world of Naruto would certainly be a very different, if not non-existent, place.

Naruto hand signs

At least I dont remember a single case when I smelled her perfume. She smelled as good, soft and unobtrusive as a young and healthy female body can smell. Everyone perceives this smell differently. For me it is a mixture of the smell of fresh milk, meadow flowers.

In general, I was young, lived in a hostel, it was summer and I had nothing to do - some fragments of my studies sometimes, repair work (so as not to go to the fields of the Non-Black Earth Region in the fall), a lot of music and night conversations for my life - and of coursegirls.

The same students, living in the same hostel, and on the occasion of the heat, wearing completely symbolic dressing gowns. I'll tell you about one of them. So (as the noble heartthrob Alexander Sergeich used to say) she was called.
