[Top 10] Best Elder Scrolls Oblivion Weapons and How To Get Them

Hello, hello! My name’s Ember and I’m coming back at you with another bests list. This time, I’ll be talking about the 10 best weapons in Oblivion, let's get into it.

Blade Of Woe (Best for stealth characters)

The Blade Of Woe is a unique dagger given to the player at the start of the Dark Brotherhood questline.

This is probably one of, if not my absolute favorite, weapons in the game. Depending on your level, the enchantments on the dagger change to become more powerful and make the weapon more useful. The Blade Of Woe is an incredibly easy weapon to get, like, I cannot put enough emphasis on how easy this is to obtain, it’s a very good weapon for early game. I’d recommend this weapon to anyone playing a stealth character. It’s great as a secondary weapon for stealth archers or a main weapon for thieves. If you do the Dark Brotherhood questline and keep the Blade Of Woe with you during the last quest, the Night Mother will enchant it, making it one of the best daggers in the game.

Weapon stats

  • 7 damage
  • 4 carry weight
  • health
  • 20 base value
  • speed
  • .6 range

9. Akaviri Sunderblade (Best for fighter characters)

The Akaviri Sunderblade is a katana available for purchase from the Three Brother’s Trade Goods in the Imperial City Market District.

I’d like to start this off by appreciating how pretty this Katana is. It’s modeled after a Japanese katana, making it absolutely gorgeous to slice with. This weapon has some amazing stats and enchantments, it’s. It’s great for early gameplay since it can be purchased in a shop and doesn’t require players to be any specific level. I’d recommend this to beginning players as well as anyone who plays a fighting character.

8. Skull Of Corruption (Best for spellcasters)

A mage weapon! The Skull Of Corruption is a staff that can be obtained by completing Vaermina’s  Daedric quest.

This staff is pretty cool both for the way it looks and howthe way it works. It’s adorned with a pretty rad looking skull on the top that emits magic. The magic it emits causes a clone of your enemy to appear and attack the original NPC for 30 seconds. This staff is good for both pure mages and battlemages. It can be carried into battle along with your weapon of choice to make for a pretty cool fight, or it can be used on its own.

7. Bow Of Infernal Frost (Best for archers)

The Bow Of Infernal Frost is an enchanted bow sold by M’raaj Dar in the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood sanctuary.

This bow has made it onto this list because of its enchantments. This bow deals 10 points of both frost and fire damage (don’t know how it manages to do that since those are conflicting elements, anything is possible with magic I guess) to the target upon impact, making for a whopping 28 damage total. The Bow Of Infernal Frost is pretty easy to get, so beginner players should definitely go after this one.

Weapon stats

  • 8 base damage
  • 14 carry weight
  • health
  • base value
  • 1 speed

This is a photo from the Skyblivion mod, but it's very similar to how the blade appears in Oblivion

6. Thornblade (Best for fighter characters)

Thornblade is a unique leveled longsword that can be obtained by completing the Wayward Knight quest.

This blade is absolutely amazing. It deals devastating damage to any enemy it hits, this is a good blade for characters that rush into battle ready to swing. I personally really like this sword because it gives you some really satisfying kills, depending on the difficulty you’re playing on, you can get some pretty cool insta-kills.

Weapon stats

  • damage
  • weight
  • health
  • base value
  • 1 speed
  • 1 reach
  • charge

Why Thornblade is awesome

  • The Disintegrate armor enchantment
  • The really good base stats

How to get Thornblade

  •  Obtain “The Wayward Knight” quest
  • Keep Farwil Indarys alive
  • Return to Count Indarys
  • Choose Thornblade

Thornblade details: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Thornblade

5. Witsplinter (Best for stealth characters)

Witsplinter is a leveled Elven dagger that can be obtained during the quest “The Siren’s Deception”.

Witsplinter is good for fighting against mages, seeing as its enchantments damage magicka and intelligence. I really like this blade for that reason and because the enchantments become more powerful if you get it at a higher level. I’d recommend this weapon to any stealth character, especially ones that will be encountering enemies that use magic a lot.

Weapon stats

  • damage
  • carry weight
  • health (only number I could find)
  • base value
  • 1 speed
  • 1 reach

Why Witsplinter is awesome

  • The leveled stats
  • The good enchantments
  • It emits a red glow, so that’s pretty cool

How to get Witsplinter

  • Obtain “The Siren’s Deception” quest
  • Kill Faustina Cartia
  • Loot her body, grab Witsplinter

Witsplinter details: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Witsplinter

4. Bow Of Infliction (Best for archers)

The Bow Of Infliction is a unique bow that can be obtained viaby purchasing it from The Archer’s Paradox in Bravil.

This bow doesn't have an enchantment as powerful as the Bow Of Infernal Frost, but it can deal up to twice the amount of damage. This bow is really good if you’re fighting against another archer, since its enchantments drain the Marksman skill and damage Agility, your foe most likely isn’t gonna come out on top. It’s also good for archers taking part in large battles because of the incredible amount of damage it can do.

Weapon stats (base)

  • 18 damage
  • 20 carry weight
  • health
  • base value
  • speed
  • 0 reach
  • charge

Why the Bow Of Infliction is awesome

  • Drain Marksman 15 points for 60 seconds enchantment
  • Damage Agility 5 points enchantment
  • The amount of damage this thing can do

How to get the Bow Of Infliction

  • Go to The Archer's Paradox in Bravil
  • Speak to Daenlin
  • Purchase bow

3. Volendrung (Best for warriors or barbarians)

Volendrung is a unique warhammer that is obtained by completing Malacath’s Daedric quest.

This warhammer is probably the best one in the game. It does a really good amount of damage and has two great enchantments. It’s a pretty heavy weapon though, so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with a low carrying capacity. I personally really like using this weapon when I play a character that warrants it, both because of its stats and its looks.

Weapon stats

  • 20 damage
  • 60 carry weight
  • health
  • base value
  • speed
  • reach
  • charge

Why Volendrung is awesome

  • Paralyze or 3 seconds on strike enchantment
  • Drain health 5 points or 20 seconds on strike
  • Good damage

How to get Volendrung

  • Obtain Malacath’s quest
  • Complete the quest
  • Return to Malacath
  • Receive Volendrung

Volendrung details: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Volendrung_(Oblivion)

2. Mehrunes Razor (Best for stealth and one-handed characters)

I’m just all about Daedric weapons today, aren’t I? Mehrunes Razor is a unique dagger that can be obtained by completing Mehrunes Dagon’s quest in the Mehrunes Razor plug-in.

This dagger is better than the Blade Of Woe because of its ability to instantly kill targets. Mehrunes Razor has the Daedric Banishing enchantment, enabling you to perform one-hit kills. This weapon is also leveled, so the higher your level when you get it, the more powerful it is. This blade is great for stealth kills, since it can insta-kill just about anything, I’d definitely recommend seeking it out.

Weapon stats (levels )

  • 7 damage
  • 3 carry weight
  • health
  • base value
  • speed
  • reach
  • charge

Why Mehrunes Razor is awesome

  • Disintegrate armor 15 points for 7 seconds enchantment
  • Daedric banishing enchantment
  • The fact that it’s leveled

How to get Mehrunes Razor

  • Obtain the “Unearthing Mehrunes Razor” quest
  • Go through the Ayleid City of of Varsa Baalim
  • Make sure the champion dies
  • Retrieve Mehrunes Razor from behind a gate

Mehrunes Razor details: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Mehrunes%27_Razor_(Oblivion)

 1. Apotheosis (Best for mages)

Last but most certainly not least, we have Apotheosis (it took me way too long to spell this one properly). Apotheosis is a unique staff that can be obtained by purchasing it at Rindir’s Staffs in the Imperial City Market District.

This is one of, if not the most powerful staffs in the game. This thing can kill city guards and other enemies of a similar level in just a couple hits, so yeah, it’s pretty good. This staff can be good for battlemages or just pure mages, battlemages could definitely make use of it in large battles. Apotheosis is pretty easy to get, so I’d recommend it to beginning players. From personal experience, this staff is great and fun to use, it’s definitely worth seeking out.

Weapon stats:

  • 0 base damage
  • 10 weight
  • 20 health
  • base value
  • 1 speed
  • 0 reach
  • charge

Why Apotheosis is awesome

  • Frost damage 33 points enchantment
  • Fire damage 33 points enchantment
  • Spark damage 33 points enchantment
  • Total of 99 damage

How to get Apotheosis

  • Go to Rindir’s Staffs in the Imperial City Market District
  • Speak to Rindir
  • Purchase Apotheosis

Apotheosis details: https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Apotheosis_(Staff)

Oblivion:Unique Items

This page lists the various items with unique enchantments available for purchase or discovery in Oblivion, including some faction specific sets of armor that can only be found in a few specific places. Unique staves are not included here; all unique staves are listed on the Staves article.

In addition to unique items, there are Artifacts (unusually powerful unique items), random Generic Magic Apparel, random Generic Magic Weapons, and level-based reward items. For lists of other available items, see:

Unique Weapons[edit]

Unique Blades[edit]

* The Mace of Doom is a bladed weapon; using it increases your blade skill. However, it resembles an Ebony Mace. Also, it does not have an icon in your inventory (a green or brown square is all that is displayed, possibly with the enchanted "orb" symbol).
** Redwave is technically a leveled item, but since all 7 versions of it are exactly alike, it is for all practical purposes a unique item, since at least by appearances it's the same regardless of your level.

*** The Drain Fatigue enchantment on Sinweaver has no duration, and therefore no effect on its target.

  • The Scales' attribute changes are effective any time the Scales are in your inventory.
  • They are not implemented as Fortify Attribute effects, for example, but rather are done by directly changing your character's attributes (via the command ). For this reason, it will not give you access to the spell effects for spell making and enchanting purposes.
  • It is recommended always having them in your inventory since the +2 strength leaves you with a net +6 featherweight bonus (even though the scales' weight is 4) along with the other goodies it provides. The personality penalty can easily be overcome by dropping the scales before entering conversation, and picking them back up when you leave. Alternatively, a simple Charm spell can overcome the minor decrease.
  • These Scales are identical in appearance to standard Scales.

20 Best Weapons in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (And How To Get Them)

Oblivion certainly had its fair share of fantastic armors and incredible spells, but if there’s one thing for which I absolutely loved the game, it has to be its variety of weapons.

Every weapon felt completely unique. Which is something that many players didn’t feel in Skyrim.

However, with as many weapons as there were in Oblivion, it also made it quite difficult for players to pick one.

Many of us still play the game, though, which means that we’re always eager to try out new weapons.

I’ve compiled this list for those who’d like to kill some baddies with weapons that you’ve never tried before. Or for newcomers who just want to power up quickly.

Swords, blades, staves, and bows; whatever you need, you’ll find it here!

Daedric Claymore

Daedric Claymore in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game

How To Get: Found as loot, but rarity is tied to your level

The Daedric Claymore is the most powerful Claymore in the game, and it is only dropped commonly after reaching level

However in terms of sheer strength, you won’t come across as many weapons that deal as much damage as this one.

Daedric Longsword

Daedric Longsword Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: Found as loot, but rarity is tied to your level

Much like the claymore, the Daedric Longsword is also extremely powerful.

This one’s also a two-handed weapon, although it does swing a bit faster than its former counterpart.

A simple and non-rare weapon, but a pretty useful one nonetheless.

Blade of Woe

Blade of Woe Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion screenshot

How To Get: Given to the Hero of Kvatch by Lucien Lachance

The Blade of Woe is mainly famous because of its enchantments given by the Night Mother, but that’s not all it has.

This fantastic weapon is also one of the most emblematic weapons in Oblivion.

Given that the Dark Brotherhood is probably the most entertaining storyline in the game (apart from the main one) it comes as no surprise that this weapon remains engraved in the memories of many Oblivion players – even after all these years.

Be sure to keep this and have it with you during the last quest of the Dark Brotherhood storyline, as the Night Mother will enchant it to make it one of the best daggers in the game!

Akaviri Sunderblade

Akaviri Sunderblade from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: The Akaviri Sunderblade can be bought from Sergius Verus at Three Brothers’ Trade Goods
This Katana, capable of disintegrating armor, is absolutely worth seeking out.

It can also be purchased and there are no quests needed to obtain it, which makes it even better.

And as if that wasn’t enough, it’s shaped as a Japanese katana so the design is quite beautiful to slice with.

Skull of Corruption

Skull of Corruption Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion weapon

How To Get: Completing the Daedric quest of Vaermina will grant you the Skull of Corruption
If you want a powerful staff, well then this is it.

It’s the Daedric artifact of Vaermina, the Daedric Prince of Dreams, and it has the ability to “corrupt” the mind of your enemy for 30 seconds.

During this time a double of your enemy will be created, and it will attack them until time runs out. Nice!

Sanguine Rose

Sanguine Rose in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game

How To Get: Complete the quest of Daedric Lord Sanguine to get your hands on this item

This mighty staff will summon a random Daedra to fight, which will remain in the realm for 30 seconds and fight alongside you.

Definitely a nice effect to have. Not the most powerful weapon, but not the worst you could play with either.

Mace of Molag Bal

Mace of Molag Bal in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: Obtained by completing the Molag Bal quest

The Mace of Molag Bal has a staggering enchantment that drains your enemies’ strength as well as their magicka, making it one of the most overpowered weapons in the game.

If you’re also one of those people who care about how weapons look, you’ll be pleased to know that the mace looks absolutely lethal.

It clearly represents what it is capable of doing.

As with many other Daedric weapons and artifacts, though, you will need to leave the “good guy” in you behind if you wish to get your hands on the Mace of Molag Bal.

Corrupting a man and killing him is a necessary step in the process here.

Bow of Infernal Frost

Bow of Infernal Frost from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: M&#;raaj-Dar in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary is the sole seller of this weapon in the game, but it has an eye-watering value of septims!

The Bow of Infernal Frost is arguably one of the best bows in the entire game.

And the fact that you don’t need to complete any quests to get it makes it even more appealing.

It shares the same design as most other Dwarven Bows (it’s a Dwarven Bow itself) but its unique enchantment makes it a legendary weapon worthy for only the strongest archers in Tamriel.

It deals both Fire Damage and Frost Damage with each shot, so it’s pretty darn handy.

Bow of Infliction

Bow of Infliction Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: Daenlin at The Archer&#;s Paradox in Bravil sells the Bow of Infliction at the moderate price of septims

The Bow of Infliction might not have as powerful an enchantment as the Bow of Infernal Frost, but it does provide the ability to deal more than twice the base damage of its powerful counterpart.

If you’re fighting another archer, you’re going to want to use this bow.

It drains the Marksman skill out of your enemies while also causing terrible damage to their agility.

The combination of debuffs is also quite lethal, and so is the power of this bow.

Thornblade

Thornblade Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion weapon

How To Get: Complete &#;The Wayward Knight” and you’ll get the Thornblade as a reward

This legendary weapon, which has one of the best weapon designs in the Elder Scrolls franchise (in my humble opinion, at least) deals devastating damage to anyone it manages to hit.

The weapon might be better to get once your character is at least level 30, as it will have the most power by then (its strength depends on your level).

And it has a maximum base value of almost septims, which means that mages might want to get their hands on this beauty even if only to sell it off for profit.

Truncheon of Submission

Truncheon of Submission Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: Morvayn&#;s Peacemakers in Anvil is the sole seller of this quite unique-looking weapon

Truncheons, aka weird-looking medieval maces, are not really commonly found among the lands of Tamriel.

However, the Truncheon of Submission is one of the coolest weapons you can get.

It has a pretty low base damage of just 10 points, but it deals 30 points of fatigue per hit. Quite a bit!

So what makes this weapon rank here on my list, you may ask?

Well it also restores 20 points of health to whoever you hit. Not really great… but here’s the fun part: you can hit your friends with it!

9. Witsplinter

Witsplinter from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game

How To Get: This can be found on Faustina Cartia during the &#;The Siren&#;s Deception&#; quest

The Whitsplinter is the second dagger on my list.

As you can imagine, a dagger ranking this high means it’s damn good.

This is the weapon you’ll want to have if you intend to fight against a wizard.

It deals 20 points of damage at its highest level, plus 35 points of magicka damage and 10 points of drain intelligence. Woah.

Use it against someone who relies on magic completely and you’ll cut off their main source of power with a couple of hits.

8. Volendrung

Volendrung Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion weapon

How To Get: You’ll need to complete Malacath’s quest if you wish to get your hands on the Volendrung

As arguably the strongest warhammer in the game, this legendary weapon deals 20 points of damage, drains the health of your enemies for five seconds, and paralyzes them for three.

In terms of sheer damage effects, this thing is scary.

Legend has it that it once belonged to the leader of a Dwemer clan, but it somehow ended up in the possession of Lord Malacath.

How that happened is completely unknown to the realm of man.

But one thing’s for sure: The Hero of Kvatch will be able to use this weapon for the better part of their first 20 levels.

7. Ebony Blade

Ebony Blade from The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game

How To Get: Get the Ebony Blade by completing Mephala’s quest

The Ebony Blade is the most beautiful katana sword in the game(in my eyes).

As ironic as the use of the words “katana” and “sword” might seem, it kinda fits the mold of both.

In any case, this legendary weapon is capable of dealing with catastrophic amounts of damage. Although it’s even more useful if you happen to wield it against magicians.

The sword can silence enemies and absorb their health, allowing you to strike a barrage of hits on most mages without them having the ability to defend themselves.

Watch them cry in pain as you slay them – there’s nothing else for them to do!

6. Umbra

Umbra in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: There’s only one way to obtain this sword – by killing Umbra in the ruin of Vindasel

According to the tales of old, the Umbra sword is said to contain a soul within it.

This soul, as the legend goes, belongs to a man who dared defy the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile.

Why anyone would dare to do such a dumb thing, I don’t know.

What I do know, however, is that this legendary weapon has the ability to soul trap any enemies that it hits. And it lasts for a whole two minutes!

Be sure to carry around a few empty soul gems if you’re going to swing Umbra around. It deals 28 points of base damage too, which means you’ll be slaying foes left and right if you get it early in your game.

5. Dawnfang &#; Duskfang

Dawnfang &#; Duskfang Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: You’ll get this legendary sword by completing the quest &#;Baiting the Trap&#; during the Shivering Isles main questline

This is only one weapon, but it has a cool perk: you’ll be wielding it as Dawnfang at dawn, and as Dusfkang at dusk.

This actually changes its color and effects depending on the time of the day!

It deals fire damage as Dawnfang and frost damage as Duskfang. With a base damage of 25 and potential extra damage of 15 points, it’s one heck of a heavy hitter.

4. Sword of the Crusaders

Sword of the Crusaders in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: The Sword most be recovered from Sir Berich’s Wraith during “The Sword of the Crusader” quest in the Knights of the Nine Expansion Pack

This weapon fortifies your blade skill by 10 points. And with a base damage of up to 25, I’d say this is worth going after.

The only problem is that it will become unequipable if you happen to have your infamy level rise. So keep an eyeon that!

3. Chillrend

Chillrend Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game weapon

How To Get: If both sons survive at the end of the The Killing Field quest, their father will give you the Chillrend as a reward

This weapon deals frost damage on top of its already high base damage, so it’s pretty nice for certain enemies.

And that’s not all: it also gives your enemies a weakness to frost with any contact you make.

You can cause devastating damage to your foes with a single hit thanks to this combo. Which is definitely why it’s ranked so high, and it’s why you should go after this if you can.

2. Shadowrend

Shadowrend from The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion game

How To Get: You can obtain Shadowrend during the &#;Symbols of Office&#;, which is triggered during the main storyline of The Elder Scrolls IV: The Shivering Isles Expansion Pack

This weapon can be an axe or a sword.

Yep you read it right: it appears in different shapes depending on which skill you’ve leveled up the most.

Be sure to get it after level 30, as it will spawn as a weapon worth almost 10, septims. So even if you don’t want this long-term, just sell it and use that money for other stuff.

Its base damage hits at 28, with an additional buff to damage your opponent’s health and make them weak to magicka. Quite a fearsome weapon for the game.

1. Goldbrand

Goldbrand from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

How To Get: Obtain Goldbrand by finishing Boethia’s Daedric quest

Goldbrand is the golden katana that belongs to whoever becomes the Champion of Boethia, the powerful Daedric Prince of Treachery.

As such, the only way for you to get your hands on this weapon is by visiting the shrine of this entity and becoming his champion.

You’ll have to face a ton of foes to achieve it, though!

Goldbrand deals 25 points of base damage plus 22 extra points of fire damage. It’s a lethal sword, and by far the best weapon you can snag in Oblivion.

Oblivion: 10 Best Weapons And How To Get Them

Wandering around Cyrodiil can lead you to danger no matter where you go. So, a reliable weapon to slay your foes is a necessity if you are going to survive past the Imperial City. Thankfully, finding such a weapon is easy, if you know the right places to look.

From daggers, bows, and staves, weapons offer different damage and special enchantments that give you an edge over your opponents. Weapons can either help you complete your quest or be the reason you fail. Be it Daedric artifacts or enchanted weapons, these weapons in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will serve you well no matter who or what you face.

10 Blade of Woe

A unique ebony dagger, the Blade of Woe is one of the more sleek daggers you can wield in Oblivion. While the dagger only offers base damage of 20, depending on your choices, this can make it a powerful weapon for new players to wield early on in the game.

Moreover, the Blade of Woe can have a leveled enchantment placed on it after the Dark Brotherhood quest Honor Thy Mother is completed.

  • To get the Blade of Woe for yourself, you must begin the Dark Brotherhood quest A Knife in the Dark, and Lucien Lachance will give it to you at the start of the mission.

9 Akaviri Sunderblade

A type of Akavari katana, this blade will serve you well against other weapon-wielding opponents. The blade is enchanted to disintegrate both the weapons and armor of your opponents by points.

Their weapons and armor will slowly become unusable, rendering them completely defenseless to your attacks. And the Akaviri Sunderblade will make that task easy as it has 15 damage for every blow dealt.

  • You can buy this weapon from Sergius Verus at the Three Brother’s Trade Goods in the Imperial City.

8 Bow of Infernal Frost

Can’t decide between frost damage or fire damage when showering your enemies with arrows? The Bow of Infernal Frost makes this decision easy as it deals 10 points in both fire and frost damage, adding an extra 20 points of damage for every arrow that hits its mark.

This bow is extremely unique with its enchantment and offers a high damage output that will make any foe crumble before you.

  • You must be a part of the Dark Brotherhood to wield this weapon since it can only be purchased from M’raaj-Dar inside the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Cheydinhal.

7 Thornblade

Thornblade is a leveled longsword that lets you disintegrate the opponent’s armor anywhere between points depending on your level. This lets you bypass their protection and easily deal more damage than you are taking.

The base damage level of the blade is anywhere between points, again based on your level, and this allows you to kill your foes with ease.

  • Thornblade is rewarded after completing the quest The Wayward Knight which can be started after completing the main quest Dagon’s Shrine and then visiting the town of Cheydinhal. To get the weapon you must complete the quest with Farwil Indarys still alive.

6 Mace of Molag Bal

The Daedric artifact of Molag Bal, this weapon is fierce, intimidating, and will serve you well in battle. This mace does particularly well against both fighters and mages alike since it's enchanted to drain both strength and magic from your opponents by five points.

Moreover, the Mace of Molag Bal has 21 damage points making it a deadly weapon.

  • If you want to wield the Mace of Molag Bal you can journey to his shrine once you are level 17 and have a lion’s pelt in your inventory. Molag Bal will tell you to corrupt someone and kill them. Once that is complete the Mace will be yours.

5 Bow of Infliction

The Bow of Infliction is easily the best bow for when you go up against a fellow marksman. The enchantments on the bow damage an enemy's agility by five points and drain their marksman skill by 15 points for 60 seconds.

These enchantments combined with the base damage of 18 points per shot mean this bow will eliminate any opponent who stands before you. Pesky archers will no longer be an issue with this bow in your hands.

  • The Bow of Infliction is available for sale from Daenlin inside the Archer’s Paradox shop in the city of Bravil.

4 Skull of Corruption

Vaermina’s Daedric artifact, the Oblivion version of the staff differs from its Skyrim incarnation. Instead of just dealing regular damage, the Skull of Corruption creates a corrupted double of the target for seconds. The double will then attack the opponent you are facing.

While the staff may not deal any direct damage, being able to summon extra help is crucial in fights where you are facing multiple foes at the same time. Keep in mind that the staff does not create a double of every opponent you will come across.

  • To wield this staff you must complete the quest Vaermina which can be started by offering a black soul gem to Vaermina’s shrine.

3 Dawnfang and Duskfang

This longsword comes in two different variations depending on the time of day it is in Oblivion. Beginning at 6 am, the sword is Dawnfang and deals fire damage against opponents. Once 6 pm rolls around, the sword transforms into Duskfang which has frost damage.

The changeability of this sword makes it more versatile against opponents, you just have to keep the time of day in mind depending on what type of damage you want to dish out. The sword can be strengthened by “nourishing it” with kills. Keep in mind it must be constantly nourished in order to be strengthened properly.

  • This longsword is available with the Shivering Isles DLC and is rewarded by completing the main quest Baiting the Trap.

2 Volendrung

For those who prefer two-handed weapons, this Warhammer is one of the best two-handed weapons Oblivion has to offer. The enchantment on Volendrung simultaneously paralyzes your opponents for 3 seconds, but also drains their health by five points for 20 seconds.

Not only does it stop your foes from attacking you but Volendrung also takes some of their health away. This weapon is extremely useful against more powerful foes whose attacks you want to avoid.

  • To have Volendrung for yourself you must complete the quest Malacath. To begin this quest you must be level 10 and bring an offering of troll fat to Malacath’s shrine.

1 Mehrunes’ Razor

It’s a power move to wield the dagger of the main antagonist, but when playing Oblivion, making power moves is what you have to do. Mehrunes’ Razor is extremely powerful because not only can it disintegrate armor by 15 points for 7 seconds but it has the chance to instantly kill your opponents and trap their souls.

Every time you attack someone with this dagger there is a chance they will instantly be killed with the dagger’s unique enchantment, Daedric Banishing. The chance of this happening is based on your luck attribute.

  • To have Mehrunes’ Razor at your side you must complete the questline Unearthing Mehrunes’ Razor. To get this questline you must have purchased and installed the Mehrunes' Razor DLC.

At the very last moment, I looked away, pretending that all this time I was looking out the window, and Vika reached out and took the jacket. Throwing it over and starting. To button it again, she asked: Andrey, hang it up, please, - and held out her hangers with a blouse hung on them. - Then I'll take you home.

I silently took it and when I hung it in the closet, hidden from Vicki by the door leaves, I.
