Did You Know

Once the 3 months are up, you can renew with a 3, 6 or 12-month plan to keep the savings going.

Because everyone having to change your contact info is a pain

If it’s unlocked, compatible with our service and makes you happy…we’re good with it

Because it’d be weird if we only had 62 blocks wide coverage

Need more cat videos in your life? You can add more data or upgrade your plan anytime

Unlimited Talk & Text

Even your Mom might ask you to stop calling so much

High Speed Data

Your service will switch seamlessly between 5G & 4G LTE, whichever is strongest

FREE Mobile Hotspot

Use your data however you like, even where coffee shops don’t exist (5GB mobile hotspot on unlimited plans)

FREE 3-in-1 SIM CARD

It may not seem like a big deal, but other carriers charge for this…kind of a rip-off

  • Keep your current number or get a new one
  • Keep your contacts, apps & photos, too
  • Keep more money in your pocket
  • Activate your plan in minutes with the Mint Mobile app

All of our full plans and Starter Kits feature a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee for all purchases made on mintmobile.com or using the app. You can cancel your service for any reason within 7 days of activation and we will refund you 100% of the purchase price, including any fees and taxes. Shipping is not refunded.

Got an unused SIM card? We’ll honor returns for these within 10 days of purchase. It must be returned in its original unopened packaging and the SIM card must not be activated (condition counts—we aren’t called Mint for nothing).

Yep. All plans include the Mobile Hotspot feature at no extra charge. The data you use just pulls from your monthly 5G • 4G LTE amount. All you need is a hotspot capable phone.
Reminder: Mobile hotspot is limited to 5GB for Unlimited plans.

After you have tried our service and know what data plan is right for you, then you can choose the length of plan depending on how clever you want to get; 3, 6 or 12 months.

Mint Tip: You can lock in our introductory 3-month pricing by renewing for 12 months.

Log into your account at mintmobile.com/login anytime to view our available plans and pricing.

Per month, baby! So stream away—it comes back. For example, if you buy a 12 month, 15GB plan, you will get 15GB of high-speed 5G • 4G LTE data to use each month for 12 months. Any unused data does not roll over, though. It resets at the end of your data cycle.

Hungry for data? Why wait? You can purchase more data three ways:

i. Add more 5G • 4G LTE data through the Mint Mobile app by selecting “Buy more data” in the menu

ii. Add more 5G • 4G LTE data by logging into your account at mintmobile.com/login and clicking UpData

iii. Message UPDATA to 6700 and follow the instructions. You will need to have money in your Mint Mobile wallet to make this purchase.

Right now, only select eligible Apple iPhones and Google Pixel devices can use an eSIM on Mint, and the device must be unlocked.

An eSIM is just a physical SIM that has gone digital. Instead of you physically inserting a SIM into your phone to join the Mint network, you install an eSIM onto your phone/device. It means you don’t have to wait for your SIM to be delivered, you can activate straight after purchase.

If you are new to Mint, and have an unlocked, eligible device you can choose eSIM at time of purchase.
If you are an existing Mint customer, then log into the Mint app, head to Settings > SIM > Replacement SIM. Right now eSIMs are only available on selected iPhone devices (iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, any iPhone 11, any iPhone 12, or the latest iPhone SE) and Google Pixel devices (some Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5).

You can’t change the duration of your current plan once it has started. You can, however, set up a new duration to automatically renew at the end of your current plan by logging into your account at mintmobile.com/login.

Sure can. Purchase up to 4 plans per order. Each plan requires a new activation. So give it your friends and family – share the best deal of the year

At Mint, we don’t hide our fees in our plans—we break them out so you know exactly what you are paying.
Subtotal: Cost of the plan chosen.

Regulatory Recovery Fee: The Regulatory Recovery Fee is assessed to help recover Mint Mobile’s administrative costs to comply with various federal and state programs. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for additional details.

Telecom Tax: This includes any federal, state, county, city, or district taxes that are applicable to the retail sale of prepaid wireless communications services in your zip code.

Shipping & Handling: Depends on shipping option chosen at checkout.
NY PSCS: The Public Safety Communications Surcharge is a state-imposed surcharge collected on the retail sale of prepaid wireless communications services in the state of New York.

CA MTS Surcharge: Between 1/1/2016 and 12/31/2018, the Prepaid Mobile Telephony Services (MTS) Surcharge was collected from California-based consumers on the purchase of prepaid wireless service. It included a combination of certain taxes, fees, and other surcharges, as mandated by the state of California. Effective 1/1/2019, it is no longer applicable. Please go to https://www.mintmobile.com/ca-mts/ for more info on the replacement of the Prepaid MTS Surcharge.

Short answer: You choose. Long answer: All Mint Mobile plans allow you to choose how much 5G • 4G LTE data you need each month—4GB, 10GB, 15GB or Unlimited data. When you hit your data limit, we don’t cut you off, we just slow it down. If you need more data, then you can do a one-time data purchase in your account. Or if you find you are hitting the limit each month, simply upgrade your plan to the next data level at any time.

Your Mint service starts from the time that you activate your plan. Mint Mobile SIM cards can be activated up to 45 days after you receive your SIM.

If the phone is still locked, it will not be able to be used on other services. If unlocked, it can be used on any service with compliant hardware (eg. some devices are GSM or CDMA only).

Yes as long as your device is eligible for a Mint eSIM. Currently only iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, any iPhone 11, any iPhone 12, or the latest iPhone SE are eligible, and they must be unlocked.

To get a replacement eSIM, log into the Mint app, head to Settings > SIM > Replacement SIM.

We give you the first eSIM free of charge. If you ever want to switch back to a physical SIM at any time no problem. Just order a Replacement SIM through account management.

Sure you can. You have up to 45 days from your plan purchase date to activate your SIM card. Don’t worry we will let you know before we deactivate it. If you need more time then please call customer support at 800-683-7392 or chat with us at mintmobile.com/chat.

Yep. You can upgrade your 5G • 4G LTE data size mid-cycle by paying the difference between your current plan and the upgraded plan. You are also able to set the change to occur when your current plan ends. You cannot switch down data mid-cycle, though.

True story: the most common fix for issues with data connection, text messages and domestic and international calling is simply turning your phone off and then back on.

You can also try removing and reinserting your Mint Mobile SIM Card. This essentially re-registers your phone in the mobile network. This will help you with problems related to data connection, text messages and domestic and international calling.

If you continue to experience issues, call customer support at 800-683-7392 or chat with us at mintmobile.com/chat.

On iPhones: Your voicemails won’t immediately appear in your Visual Voicemail screen, even if you currently have messages in your inbox. They will appear once you get a new message, so we recommend you leave yourself a voicemail message after updating your Carrier Settings. Tell yourself how stoked you are about your new savings!

On Androids: To access your voicemail, press and hold the number 1 on your phone’s keypad, or dial 805-637-7456. To reset your voicemail password, type #PWD# on your keypad and hit “Send.” To record a greeting that doesn’t make you want to cringe, you’re on your own. Certain Android users can leverage native visual voicemail on their device.

For non-native-VVM Android devices, we recommend you download a third-party app.

If you have any questions our team of customer care humans can help you out.

On an iPhone:

Go to Settings on your phone.
Select Cellular Data, then Personal Hotspot.
Turn on your hotspot.

On Android phones:

Go to Settings on your phone.
Select Connections or Networks.
Choose Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
Turn on your hotspot.

It may differ on different Android devices, so if the above instructions don’t work, give Google search a try.

Unfortunately, Mint Mobile is not capable with wearables like Apple Watches.

It’s pretty easy, and we walk you through the steps. Once you purchase your plan and select an ‘eSIM delivery’ then you can choose to either activate your plan right away, or activate later in two easy steps.

  1. Activate your plan– On the order confirmation page there will be a large orange button ‘Activate now’. Hit this if you wish to activate your plan immediately after purchase. If you want to wait, no problem. We will send you an email with the same link to activate at your leisure.
  2. Install your eSIM– Once your plan is activated, then you will need to install the eSIM onto the eligible device you will be using Mint on. To do this you will scan the QR code that appears on screen after you activate your plan. If you close the screen before scanning, again no problem. We’ll be following up with an email that will contain the QR code.

1. You’ve scanned the QR code and opened the installation process, but the screen is frozen on ‘Cellular Plan’. Close the window on your phone, and rescan the QR Code.

2. If you can’t scan the QR code, check and make sure that you have your QR scanner enabled in your Settings.

You will need a new eSIM. First, make sure that your new device will be eligible with a Mint eSIM, and is unlocked. If not, then you will need to switch back to a physical SIM.

When you have your new eligible device follow the below steps:

  1. Install the Mint Mobile app on your new iPhone and log in to your account
  2. Click the “Change Device” option in the Account menu
    • If your Mint Mobile account is already using eSIM on your previous device, simply select the “Get an eSIM” option to move your account to a new eSIM on your new device
    • If your Mint Mobile account is currently using a Physical SIM, you have the option of following the instructions on the screen to transfer your physical SIM to the new device, or you can switch to eSIM. To switch to eSIM, look to the bottom of the screen where it says “Want to switch to an eSIM? Order one here” and tap the link.
  3. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the eSIM installation process.

When you switch to a new eSIM, you will keep you current plan and number. No change there.

With our Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program, you can easily get Mint Mobile service on your current device. Just switch out the SIM card and presto.
Compatible BYOP devices include:
– Most unlocked, GSM-network phones
– Unlocked AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Simple Mobile, and Straight Talk phones
– Most phones with a SIM card
You may need to hit up your carrier to unlock your phone.
If you’re still not sure if your phone will work with Mint Mobile, visit willmyphonework.net. Once there, enter your phone’s brand and model, U.S. for country and, under “Carrier,” choose our partner company, Ultra Mobile. (This, however, does not guarantee if the device is unlocked or that the phone will work with our service).

The IMEI is the serial number that uniquely identifies your mobile phone. In the event that your phone is lost or stolen, reporting the IMEI will completely block service to the phone. To access your phone’s IMEI for your own personal records, please dial *#06# on your phone’s keypad. The IMEI will be displayed on the screen.

If you’re on a prepaid or pay-as-you-go plan, your phone is probably unlocked; however, if you’re on a two-year contract or something similar, your phone is probably carrier-locked until you finish paying it off.

The most reliable way to determine whether or not your phone is unlocked is by calling your current carrier and asking them to verify your phone’s status. You will most likely need to provide your account password (if applicable) and your phone’s IMEI number. You can find this on most phones by dialing *#06# on your keypad.

Phones need to be unlocked prior to activating your Mint Mobile service.

You can get the iPhone SE + 3 FREE months of Premium Wireless when you click here.

Or, head to our phone shop at mintmobile.com/phones to pick out your shiny new toy.

If your phone is GSM and accepts a SIM card, then your phone is most likely unlocked. If you want to double check, try contacting your current carrier to check if your phone is unlocked.

Yep. You just have to switch up a few things on your phone:

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your phone.
  2. Search “Messages by Google LLC”.
  3. Download the Messages app (by Google LLC, of course).
  4. When you open it for the first time it’ll ask to be your default messaging app. Go ahead and click “Yes”.
  5. Make sure you enable chat features in the app settings so you get the whole shabang (nobody wants just half of a shabang).

Thanks to RCS, Android users have access to key features that Apple’s iMessage users have been bragging about for years like read receipts, typing bubbles (three dots ftw), and the ability to send richer media. Now you can send full-size selfies to your friends in HD. Shoutout to Rich, whoever he is, for making it possible.

Note: RCS only applies to Android 6.0 and up. RCS requires a data connection (either WiFi or cellular). Both the sender and the recipient must have RCS enabled in order to send messages through RCS.

You bet. There’s 3 ways you can add more hotspot data to your plan:

i. Add more hotspot and 5G • 4G LTE data through the Mint Mobile app by selecting “Buy more data” in the menu

ii. Add more hotspot and 5G • 4G LTE data by logging into your account at mintmobile.com/login and clicking UpData

iii. Message UPDATA to 6700 and follow the instructions

You will need to have money in your Mint Mobile wallet to make this purchase. If you need more hotspot, but don’t need more data — downsize to our 15GB plan to get up to 15GB of hotspot.

RYAN REYNOLDS

Mint Mobile Owner and Subscriber

“While every other tech titan is off chasing rockets, I’ll corner the budget-friendly wireless sector. Like most people, I only use rockets 10-12 times a year but I use my mobile service every day.”
On a crisp, partially cloudy day back in November 2019, Ryan Reynolds became more than just a Mint Mobile user, he became the owner.

Netflix revolutionized the way we watch movies, but Mint Mobile Plus is revolutionizing the way we watch bad movies. Or, rather, movie. Actor Ryan Reynolds has recently announced the creation of his own streaming platform, Mint Mobile Plus, and it’s free to all viewers. While there is no requirement for a subscription, there is one small catch. The only film available to stream is an obscure 2003 action-comedy called Foolproof, starring none other than Reynolds himself.

Stream Foolproof on Mint Mobile Plus

inbody ryan reynolds foolproof 2

This joke streaming platform is part of an advertising campaign for Mint Mobile, a budget friendly cellular provider that Reynolds recently purchased a controlling stake in. So this offer is basically one big ad, but it’s a pretty great one. The movie itself is actually fairly entertaining, even if it is dripping in early-2000’s cliches. That might make the movie better honestly, especially since it’s being streamed in “2003 DVD quality.”

If you’re looking for your next movie night feature, you might want to check out Foolproof on Mint Mobile Plus. You can also check out MintMobile.com to learn more about Reynolds’ budget cell provider. Service starts at $15 dollars a month and includes access to 5G at no additional charge.

If you want to stay up to date on offers relating to streaming services, set a Deal Alert. That way we can remind you whenever a relevant deal hits the web.

Ryan Reynolds launches his own streaming service, but it only has one movie: 2003's 'Foolproof'

Ryan Reynolds has officially entered the Streaming Wars with his own platform: Mint Mobile+, named after the mobile wireless company that Reynolds now owns. However, we don't think he'll get many subscribers, because the only thing to watch on the service (and yes, it actually exists) is Foolproof, a 2003 Canadian heist comedy written and directed by William Phillips that featured the Deadpoolstar in his 11th film role.

"Every tech company needs a streaming service. So … introducing Mint Mobile +. The world’s most affordable streaming service!" Reynolds wrote on Twitter. "Two minutes after launch, and our crack data team has already determined Mint Mobile + should probably be shut down by the weekend. We’ll go back to focusing on premium wireless …"

The launch trailer promises that you can "binge over 80 minutes of Ryan Reynolds ... all streaming in 2003 DVD quality." And it's true, the movie's resolution is just awful. Still, it's all in good fun, especially the fact that the website (modeled after Disney+'s layout) seems to boast a myriad of "Unoriginal" options, until you look closer and see that every movie is Foolproof disguised under a different thumbnail.

Co-starring Kristin Booth, David Hewlett, Joris Jarsky, David Suchet, and James Allodi, Foolproof is about a group of friends who like to stage hypothetical heist scenarios for fun. They're forced to do it for real, however, when a felon blackmails them into stealing millions of dollars.

"Foolproof is a surprise because whilst not a great movie, it is certainly entertaining and has fun with heist movies without becoming a spoof. It is definitely a movie which deserves to be better known and a must watch for fans of heist movies," wrote The Movie Scene in its review.

I Switched to Mint Mobile from a Major Carrier. This is what they DON'T tell you.

Ryan Reynolds advertises for Mint Mobile+, a guaranteed competitor of Disney+, Netflix and other streaming services.

With corporation juggernauts battling in the ongoing streaming wars, actor Ryan Reynolds is promoting Mint Mobile +, a new streaming service that only features one movie.

Foolproofis a Canadian comedy that features a young Reynolds in only his 11th appearance on screen. The 2003 film features Kristin Booth and himself. Reynolds has moved on to much bigger and better roles in Hollywood, but this film is a good reminder of his early career.

Reynolds announced the service as a brand ambassador of some kind via Twitter:

Mint Mobile +’s app layout is a near twin to Disney+’s, where Foolproof is the only movie feature but parodies other film covers.
