Favorite Furniture Transfer Methods

1) How to Transfer Typography onto Furniture This is a transfer method that I posted a few years ago and it really is the best method for transferring to furniture! If you want a lasting image on you pieces, this is the way to go. Particularly important if you are painting furniture for clients or to sell in a shop. It&#;s not as fast as some of the other methods, but if you use simple transfers, like the ones on this page, it will go much more quickly and I think you will be pleased with your results!

2) Transfer onto Furniture &#; Video TutorialThis is the same method as above, only my friend Candice put it all together in Video format and talks you through the steps!

3) Tips before Starting Furniture Transfers I highly recommend that you read through this super useful tip before getting started with Furniture Transfers! It will save you headaches and aggravation!

I hope you will find lots of inspiration when you browse through these images, and that you come up with some creative ways to use them in your own Furniture and DIY Projects!

Free Printables &#; Antique Cow Image Advertisement Transfer Projects

Normally, I only post antique graphics on Wednesdays, but I have a few new antique advertisement images that I used on several different projects, so you are getting both the printable images, as well as my projects today.

I bought a stack of antique books that were all pretty damaged, but hoped to be able to salvage a few images from them.  Among them was this almanac booklet, put out by the makers of Dwight&#;s Cow Brand Soda.  Fortunately, even though all of the pages were brittle and broken, there were 3 really nice images that were in salvageable condition.  This is one of the pages from the almanac booklet.  It was missing one cover, but the other cover had 2 wonderful colored graphics that I fell in love with.
I scanned them at high resolution, and had them printed full-page size at Staples.  I had one board that was a leaf from an antique table, so my husband cut it into shorter lengths and I painted each piece with homemade chalk-style paint (using Blue Minerals).  Once dry, I transferred the image to the board, using the same method I used here.  I love using a paintbrush for projects like this, so the brush strokes add some texture beneath the image that really gives an aged look to the finished piece when I use my palm sander over the image.  This one is available in my shop here.

This piece was created exactly the same way, with one of the other boards.  When rubbing the paper off the transfer, occasionally I lose a bit of the image, but I don&#;t stress out about it, because my goal is to make a sign/coat hook that looks like an antique, so those areas where the transfer rubbed off just makes it look more authentic.

Since I was on a roll, I decided to transfer one of the images to a flour sack towel as well.  I used Transfer Artist Paper, which always ends up looking like a distressed image when I use it.

Standing in my shorts, with my hands on my belt, I looked at the reflection, immersed in myself. The fear had somehow completely disappeared, I felt free as with a friend in the sauna. Then a wave of excitement surged, a desire appeared below, the nipples perked up even more, and a drop ran down the leg from.
