There are no Pokemon who learn this move by this method.

Roost is a premier choice for most of the Pokemon that can learn it. This move restores the user's HP by half of its max HP, making it one of the stronger HP restoring moves in the game.

This also has the additional effect of removing the Flying-type on the Pokemon for that turn. Meaning, if the Pokemon is dual-typed it will only consider the non-Flying one until the end of the turn. Due to this, the Pokemon will be hit by Ground-type moves due to the lack of Flying-typing.

Roost can only be learned via Egg Move, Level Up, or by Default.

Roost (move)

Roost (Japanese: はねやすめFeather Rest) is a non-damaging Flying-typemove introduced in Generation IV. It was TM51 in Generation IV, TM19 from Generation VI to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and TM50 in Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.

Effect

Generation IV

Roost restores half of the user's maximum HP.

If a Flying-type Pokémon successfully uses Roost, until the end of the turn, its Flying type is ignored when it is hit by attacks: If the Pokémon has another type, only that type is considered; if the Pokémon is a pure Flying type, all attacks will be normally effective against it.

Generation V onward

If a Flying-type Pokémon successfully uses Roost, it will now lose its Flying type until the end of the turn:

  • If a pure Flying-type Pokémon successfully uses Roost, it will become Normal-type until the end of the turn. If a Pokémon is a Fire/Flying type that lost its Fire type due to Burn Up, using Roost causes it to become typeless until the end of the turn.
  • If a Pokémon with another type besides Flying uses Roost, it will lose its Flying type until the end of the turn (but will not have it replaced with the Normal type).
  • If a pure Flying-type Pokémon that has been affected by Forest's Curse/Trick-or-Treat successfully uses Roost, its Flying type will be replaced by Normal, in addition to retaining its Grass or Ghost type addition.

If a Pokémon is ungrounded only due to its Flying type, successfully using Roost will make it grounded until the end of the turn (and therefore susceptible to effects such as terrain and Rototiller).

If powered up by a Flyinium Z into Z-Roost, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.

Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Get Roost on Corviknight

Set in the British-inspired Galar region, Pokemon Sword & Shield are the two latest entries in Game Freak’s massively popular monster-hunting franchise. It comes with a whole slew of new Pokemon to catch, including the intimidating Corviknight. Here’s how to get Roost on Corviknight in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

How to Get Roost on Corviknight in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Egg Moves

Unfortunately, Corviknight can’t learn Roost simply by leveling up, and it can only be obtained as an Egg Move through breeding. This means that you need to breed a Rookidee with at least one parent that already has Roost.

Once you have an eligible parent, you can leave it at the Pokemon Nursery with a female Rookidee or Corviknight, then wait a while before you get an egg. Once the egg hatches to give you a Rookidee, it’ll inherit Roost as an Egg Move.

In Pokemon Sword & Shield, the following Pokemon can learn Roost and are compatible breeding partners for Rookidee and Corviknight:

  • Noivern
  • Pelipper
  • Noctowl
  • Hoothoot
  • Hawlucha

It’s also possible to catch a Corviknight or Rookidee out in the wild that already knows Roost, but the chances of this happening are pretty slim, so you’re better off finding one of the above listed Pokemon instead.

What Roost Does

Roost is a pretty powerful Flying-type move that can come in handy for both regular and competitive battles. Here’s the description:

“The user lands and rests its body. This moves restores the user’s HP by up to half of its max HP.”

To recap, here’s how to get Roost on Corviknight in Pokemon Sword & Shield:

  1. Get a female Rookidee or Corviknight.
  2. Get a male Pokemon that knows Roost.

Noivern, Pelipper, Noctowl, Hoothoot, and Hawlucha are compatible breeding partners.

  3. Leave your male and female Pokemon at a Nursery to get an egg.
  4. Hatch the egg to get a Rookidee with Roost.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Roost on Corviknight in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.

rip mew and fliers who relied on roost tm to for recovery

It can just learn Roost in Let's Go.

But I guess people who downloaded Mew straight to Sw/Sh will be out of luck.

Unless they restrict Mew transfer, when its data gets officially put into thr game, couldn't you just transfer one with Roost?

So just transfer Mew over from another game where it could learn Roost.

nd9k: everything i post is terrible

roost is one of my favorite TMs...

"Think you can take me?!?"

They also ruined Vespiquen.

Not only do they dump the Roost TM, but they remove its signature Heal Order too.

Gamers this generation only work in hyperbole. Something is either god's gift to gaming or a cancerous blight that needs to die in a fire. There's no in between

Isn’t roost a TR?

"Mickey is a relic of another era. He didn't have staying power. Elsa is Disney's mascot now."-Endgame, 1/24/2020

There's nothing stopping us from transferring over a mew with roost. And mew in general isn't allowed in rated battles so the modes where mew is allowed it will still be able to use Roost.

Nothing is lost here.

Patiently waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2022/God Of War Ragnarok/Overwatch 2.

So no roost, no heal order, how the hell is vespiquen supposed to heal?

God save the queen, because Galar sure as hell ain't lol.

Experience was not great) and therefore decided: What if in her mouth. My voice was hoarse and even quivered slightly with excitement.
