Fantastic health and k benefits and competitive pay. If you're coming right out of school or looking to beef up your resume, it's a great opportunity to work for a well-known, brand-name company. If you thrive in constantly changing environments and enjoy finding creative solutions to improve processes, you'll enjoy working here.
Cons
Top leadership changes often, making it very difficult to make any lasting positive change. Outdated, made-in-house (or in Korea) internal technologies that don't talk to each other. Hundreds of systems to do things in and none of them are intuitive or modern. Lots of bureaucracy, red tape and unnecessary steps to get things done which makes it very challenging to do your job well. No laptops or ability to work remote (manager exceptions in some cases). Because keeping trade secrets safe is a top priority, you won't be able to take pictures on your phone and will have to go through bag scanners and metal detectors every day at work. Very little transparency from Korean fab counterpart which is very secretive and ultimately runs the show. The priority is the Fab making money and not much else. In terms of culture, watch the opening scene credits of Joe Vs. the Volcano and you'll get an idea of how people feel when they walk into Samsung on a Monday morning. I have never seen so many people depressed at the beginning of a work week and ELATED on a Friday afternoon. Additionally, some of the employees who have been there a long time have a pretty bad attitude and while I can't blame them, the petty things that people get worked up about will -
