Due to the release of the new Warzone Game Mode or updates, there is a possibility that servers will experience unprecedented traffic as the new game mode is free-to-play. The influx of new players may have placed an extremely high load on the game's servers making it difficult for players to connect.

Warzone down is
Is Warzone down?
If you're asking 'Is Warzone down?' then something has almost certainly gone wrong, but what? Often these can be fleeting sever issues that can fix themselves before you really get a chance to look things up. But that isn't always the case. Sometimes updates and other changes can cause longer lasting issues
That's where Warzone error codes come in. While they might not offer up an obvious solution right away, they do explain the causes of the issue if you know where to look. So check our list of all the currently known codes to see if that's what's keeping you out of the game.
If that doesn't help then it could be a server queue issue, which can be common at the start of a season or during a big event. However, when there is a big outage people make a lot of noise so you can expect Activision to say something fast, even if it's just acknowledging the issue. Which is pretty much where we are right now. Coming up we've got details on how to find the info you need about what's going on.
Is Call of Duty Warzone down?
While Warzone isn't down somewhere in the past when I'm writing this, future you is obviously here for a reason. So until we update this with the most current information on the issue there are a couple of places you can look to find out if the Warzone servers are down, starting with the official Activision customer support Twitter feed. Alongside replying to direct questions about the game and support for reporting bugs, this account will also tweet out whenever the servers are facing widespread issues. They haven't tweeted anything about the servers being down at the time of writing.
If you can't see anything there, make sure you check the Activision Call of Duty Warzone server status page too. If everything is working smoothly, it should have a green tick and say "All Platforms: Online". From there, you can also click on the individual platform icons to see if it's a network problem with PlayStation, Xbox One, or Battle.net.
Finally – as always – there's DownDetector.com. This is a third party service that you can check to see if anyone else has been experiencing trouble connecting to Call of Duty Warzone, along with a chart showing recent issues across the world.
Usually, we'd recommend cross referencing all three services and if none of them show the servers as being down, there's a chance the issue is on your end. In which case, we'd recommend restarting your machine, followed by your router. Still having trouble? Check if you can connect to web pages and if you can't, contact your internet service provider.
In this case, however, it's safe to say that the issue is a widespread one affecting all players and across all Call of Duty online modes.

How to check if the Warzone servers are down
If you're stuck in a Warzone server queue as you try to experience the end of Verdansk, you're not alone. As the Warzone nuke event kicked off this week, many of us were waiting to see the bombs finally drop on the now-zombie-infested Verdansk, but clogged servers got in the way. Thankfully Raven noticed the issue, which you can see more about on its Trello board.
The nuclear festivities aren't done yet. If you want to see what's next—perhaps paving the way for the new Warzone map—then you'll want to keep an eye on Warzone's server situation today. Here's how to check the current status of the Warzone servers.
How to check the Warzone server status
Activision has made it nice and easy to check whether the Call of Duty: Warzone servers are running as planned. If you think you've encountered some technical difficulties that didn't arise on your end, head over to Activision's Online Services support page to check if it's a server issue. Choose Call of Duty: Warzone from the dropdown box and click Refresh underneath. If all is well, the page will display a green checkmark with the "All platforms online" message. If you believe you're one of the first to experience an outage, you can also report it on this page by clicking Let Us Know in the bottom-left corner.
There are also a couple of websites that exist solely to keep players in the know. So if something doesn't feel quite right, have a peek on sites like Gaming Intel and DownDetector to view their real-time status reports.
These pages are a great place to start, but if you want more frequent updates, it's also worth following the Infinity Ward and Activision Support Twitter accounts. New updates and patches are frequently shared on both, and if there's a bug bothering the Warzone community, Twitter is often the best place to check for further information on it. Remember that you can always set up notifications from these accounts on Twitter to ensure you're never out of the loop.
If you're still experiencing issues after checking these pages, it's worth double-checking that the problem isn't on your PC. It's an age-old saying, but it's worth asking, have you tried turning it off and on again? Sometimes simply relaunching the game is enough to iron out a hiccup, and there's no harm in doing a spot of troubleshooting to see if you can fix the problem yourself. If the issue persists and only occurs in Warzone, report it to Activision.
