The correct USAF Officer Saber is the M1902 Calvary Saber, also known as the US Army Officer Saber.
This has been the regulation Officer Saber since 1947 when the Air Force separated from the US Army.
The confusion seems to have its roots in the fact that the NCO Sword shares the same basic design as the
USAF Academy Cadet Saber. The regulations are a bit elusive as well which has added further to the confusion.
Confusion has also been generated form internet pictures and websites with incorrect information.

The USAF Honor Guard training guide which is the clearest reference on page 135 are pictures for both the Saber and Sword.
Also, if you look closely at the picture above & the manual  you will see an Air Force Officer wearing the M1902.

Air Force Sword

History of the United States Air Force Sword
The Air Force Sword is the ceremonial edged weapon carried by enlisted airmen for special ceremonies. This sword borrows its design from the Air Force Academy Saber which was designed in 1955. The Air Force Sword is identical to the USAFA Saber in every way with the exception of the "US Air Force Academy" inscription on the blade. The Air Force Sword replaced the Model 1840 NCO Sword as the official ceremonial edged weapon for enlisted Airmen sometime within the last decade, although the transition was so gradual that I am having trouble pinpointing exactly when the change occurred Despite the numerous bad information given by Internet sources the Air Force Sword is not the weapon carried by Air Force Officers.

Air Force officers still carry the Model 1902 Saber. In 1948, one year after the USAF separated from the Army, the Air Force Honor Guard was born. Citing the need for ceremonial edged weapons, they used the same weapons as the army due to their availability. This tradition has remained unchanged for Air Force Officers. The USAF currently does not have its own manual of arms and references Army FM 22-5 as the reference for drilling under arms. As of yet, the only published information outlining which weapons are to be used by either enlisted or officer, is the Honor Guard Manual.

Sword Worn by the USAF Officer

Does an Air Force officer wear the US Air Force Sword or the Army Officer Saber? The current uniform regulation does not outline the sword/saber wear. However, we have seen the following:

History & Tradition: : : Archived manuals portrayed Air Force officers wearing an Army saber because of the Army Air Corps roots. But again, the current uniform regulation does not have a sword/saber section. For formal organizational functions, you may want to check with your chain of command prior to an event requiring sword and saber usage.

Base Honor Guards: The US Air Force Honor Guard from Bolling AFB has an USAF Honor Guard Training Manual containing a sword and saber section. This is a great training guide designed specifically for Ceremonial Guardsmen, but it is also the only current USAF regulation covering any type sword usage. For Base Honor Guards, the manual has officers using Army sabers and enlisted using the Air Force sword.

After a couple of hours I was at home too.
