Almost a year after NVIDIA launched its flagship RTX , , and cards, the Ti has arrived. NVIDIA has designed this GPU to sit in-between the RTX and RTX when it comes to performance and specs. Gigabyte offers this Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC model which is what I am covering in this review. This card is sort of an advancement over the Founders Edition as Gigabyte has slightly tweaked the performance to pump a little bit more juice out of this GPU.

A brief rundown of the specs of the Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC reveals its 12GB of GDDR6X RAM, 10, CUDA cores, a memory clock of 19,Mhz, bit memory bus and a TDP of W. It also comes packed with Gigabyte&#;s Windforce cooling system, requires at least a W power supply and packs 3 DisplayPort a ports and 2 HDMI ports. You&#;ll also need 2 PCIe 8-pin connectors to power this beast.

Watch our Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC review down below.

For starters, it is important to note that this Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC GPU packs 12GB of VRAM which is only two more than the RTX but half of that in the If you still want the best of the best, you&#;ll need a to get it but it will, of course, cost you a lot of money. Also, keep in mind that the sheer amount of VRAM on these GPUs are still not utilized by games on the market yet. If you&#;re into heavy workstation loads then it is a different story so keep that in mind when shopping around. Just because 24GB of VRAM is the most, does not mean you need it.

The big difference between this Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC version and the base GPU can be found in some of the specs. A base Ti comes with a MHz boost clock and a memory speed of MHz. This model comes with a MHz boost clock

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC Design

Any gamer will love the overall design of the Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti. While not as uniform and sleek as the founder&#;s edition, this GPU is massive. It is also very long due to the third fan on it. However, the higher clocks speeds on the GPU rely heavily on improved cooling. The GPU features a gunmetal grey styled design with no colour on it at all. Of course, that changes when you power it up and the RGB is activated.

The GPU includes on strip of RGB that is found on the logo. It can be tweaked and changed using the RGB Fusion software. It goes without saying that it also syncs up with other Gigabyte hardware you have on your PC. In my case, this is the RAM, motherboard and GPU. My PC is slowly becoming a Gigabyte dream and I love to see it.

The overall design is also clean although there are some heat pipes that show depending on how you look at it. I won&#;t say it is the best and most stylish GPU on the market but it works. The button metal plate hides most of the chips away and the fans are visible enough to clean when needed. It is also important to state that this card doesn&#;t come with a mount. I thought it would be an issue at first but it took up two grate spots on my NZXT Hero H case and after installing the card, it was surprisingly sturdy. There isn&#;t much else to speak about when it comes to the design.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC Performance and Cooling

A big push for this card is its cooling. Gigabyte included an extra fan in this GPU to help with the higher clock speeds so putting it to the test meant monitoring how hot this card got while maxing out the performance. It is also important to compare these scores with the RTX because right now that GPU is your closest purchase option.

For the most part, the performance tests were great but at the same time, in line with the RTX that it kind of makes this RTX Ti a hard sell. Don&#;t get me wrong, the Ti outclassed the standard but the gap isn&#;t big enough to warrant the price difference. You need to be going into this purchase with your eyes on the RTX Ti from the start and not deciding between the two.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti OC Performance

The results speak for themselves. The Gigabyte RTX Ti is a beastly card. With the right PC, you can easily get above 60FPS on 4K maxed settings on some of the most graphically intense games around. When enabling raytracing on these games, the frames do half most of the time. We saw this with games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Watch Dogs. It was almost a clean half drop in average FPS. However, thanks to DLSS this also increased the frames across various tests. We saw Watch Dogs jump up by ten average frames when using DLSS on 4K with RT on. It is still mad how demanding ray-tracing can be.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC Review

Can the Gigabyte RTX Ti be overclocked to get even more performance? Most definitely. Using Afterburner, one could tweak your PC to output a little bit more power here but don&#;t expect it to drastically change your performance. Increased the core voltage by 50, increased the power limiter and added a bit more clocks to the GPU. In the end, I saw about a frame boost across all tests. Watch Dogs went from 60FPS to 64FPS. Other games also saw a slight jump.

As for the cooling of the GPU, the three fans make for a pretty decent thermal system. While idle, the card sat at around 34 degrees celsius with a middegree max mark during the most intense test environments. Keep in mind that it is winter in SA and quite chilly at 18 degrees. As for thermal throttling, the Gigabyte RTX Ti, when pushed to the limit seems to throttle at around MHz.

Gigabyte RTX Ti Gaming OC GPU Review

Gigabyte has quite a hefty GPU on its hands here. The cooling is impressive and the overclocking features mean you can get an extra 5% of power out of this card. At the same time, it acts as a nice middle-ground between the and the standard You really don&#;t need 24GB of VRAM for gaming so this is a great option. Still, it is hella expensive and very hard to find. You could also just wait for the Aurus model to arrive and see how that performs?

General info

The thermal design power (TDP) is the maximum amount of power the cooling system needs to dissipate. A lower TDP typically means that it consumes less power.

A higher transistor count generally indicates a newer, more powerful processor.

Small semiconductors provide better performance and reduced power consumption. Chipsets with a higher number of transistors, semiconductor components of electronic devices, offer more computational power. A small form factor allows more transistors to fit on a chip, therefore increasing its performance.

Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) is a high-speed interface standard for connecting components, such as graphics cards and SSDs, to a motherboard. Newer versions can support more bandwidth and deliver better performance.

The graphics card contains two graphics processing units (GPUs). This generally results in better performance than a similar, single-GPU graphics card.

When covered under the manufacturer’s warranty it is possible to get a replacement in the case of a malfunction.

The graphics card uses a combination of water and air to reduce the temperature of the card. This allows it to be overclocked more, increasing performance.

The width represents the horizontal dimension of the product. We consider a smaller width better because it assures easy maneuverability.

The height represents the vertical dimension of the product. We consider a smaller height better because it assures easy maneuverability.

Performance

The number of pixels that can be rendered to the screen every second.

The memory clock speed is one aspect that determines the memory bandwidth.

The number of textured pixels that can be rendered to the screen every second.

Shading units (or stream processors) are small processors within the graphics card that are responsible for processing different aspects of the image.

TMUs take textures and map them to the geometry of a 3D scene. More TMUs will typically mean that texture information is processed faster.

When the GPU is running below its limitations, it can boost to a higher clock speed in order to give increased performance.

The ROPs are responsible for some of the final steps of the rendering process, writing the final pixel data to memory and carrying out other tasks such as anti-aliasing to improve the look of graphics.

Memory

The effective memory clock speed is calculated from the size and data rate of the memory. Higher clock speeds can give increased performance in games and other apps.

Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of volatile memory used to store working data and machine code currently in use. It is a quick-access, temporary virtual storage that can be read and changed in any order, thus enabling fast data processing.

A wider bus width means that it can carry more data per cycle. It is an important factor of memory performance, and therefore the general performance of the graphics card.

Newer versions of GDDR memory offer improvements such as higher transfer rates that give increased performance.

Error-correcting code memory can detect and correct data corruption. It is used when is it essential to avoid corruption, such as scientific computing or when running a server.

Ports

Devices with a HDMI or mini HDMI port can transfer high definition video and audio to a display.

Newer versions of HDMI support higher bandwidth, which allows for higher resolutions and frame rates.

More HDMI ports mean that you can simultaneously connect numerous devices, such as video game consoles and set-top boxes.

Features

DirectX is used in games, with newer versions supporting better graphics.

OpenGL is used in games, with newer versions supporting better graphics.

Some apps use OpenCL to apply the power of the graphics processing unit (GPU) for non-graphical computing. Newer versions introduce more functionality and better performance.

The graphics card supports multi-display technology. This allows you to configure multiple monitors in order to create a more immersive gaming experience, such as having a wider field of view.

A lower load temperature means that the card produces less heat and its cooling system performs better.

Ray tracing is an advanced light rendering technique that provides more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections in games.

Review gigabyte 3080 oc

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC review - Introduction

Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC review

In this review, we test the Gigabyte GeForce RTX Ti Gaming OC. The card is tweaked a small notch and has been designed with a custom PCB and that traditional WindForce cooler. Gigabyte as well offers a dual BIOS mode for silent and performance cooling, yet with the very same performance.

Yeah, there's no denying it. It has been a bizarre year if we're talking computer components alone, silicon shortages, mining it's been sour grapes for a long time now. Likely that won't even change soon. People are almost fighting to be able to grab a decently proceed graphics card, often running up to three times the MSRP pricing. NVIDIA is staying on its trajectory though, implementing hash-rate limitations for consumer-grade GPUs and releasing refresh products pretty much as scheduled. Today we see such a refresh product, a product that positioned itself in-between the GeForce RTX and That product would be the GeForce RTX ti, and probably was the worst kept secret as of late in the history of NVIDIA. Armed with a shader core count of  units, this card is paired with 12 GB of GDDR6X graphics memory running 19 Gbps. Much has been said, rumored, and spoken about this card, as with that libidinous shading core count, it is bound to be a bit of a beast in the enthusiast performance segment. You need to remember that it was less than a year ago that NVIDIA launched their Ampere GPU series, September in fact. A week before announcements, specifications of the GeForce RTX Ti, , , and took a twist; the shader core count mysteriously doubled up from what everybody expected, to date something massively important to this product range as yes, the competition has gotten fiercer as well. NVIDIA's GPUs are fabricated on an 8nm node derived from Samsung. This process further develops Samsung's 10nm process; no EUV is applied in production just yet. This second wave of announcements will see the GeForce RTX Ti and next week Ti (hey come on it's not a secret). The desktop product line of Ampere for consumers now entails the GeForce RTX Ti 8GB, 8GB GDDR6, RTX 10GB, RTX Ti 12GB, and RTX , what we test today is a 12GB GDDR6X based close to premium flagship. Much like the and , the Ti will base based on the existing 28 billion transistors based GA GPU from NVIDIA, obviously reconfigured. The card has an impressive Shader processors activated and mind you, the has A big change is that the memory is halved from 24 towards 12 GB (which is an excellent number).

RTX Ti Gaming OC

in this review, we'll focus on the Gigabyte, they once again offer a Gaming OC model, in particular this one has been fitted with two BIOS modes, both offering the same rendering performance, however there's a silent and performance mode (we advise silent btw). The card comes factory tweaked at MHz (boost) out of the box. That’s a mild bump seen from the reference MHz boost. The Gaming OC model also features a TDP of W, which is 10W over reference specs. Gigabyte equipped the card with a semi-passive design; the three fans part of the windforce ecosystem start to spin and cool once the GPU warms up. The card is beefed up pretty extreme. As explained, it has a dual BIOS with perf and silent mode. Make no mistake; both modes offer the same performance, just a marginal difference in temperatures and acoustics can be perceived. As mentioned this card has a clock speed of MHz out of the box. The memory runs stock at 19 Gbps effective. The output interface is DisplayPort ax3, HDMI x 2. The bus interface is PCI-Express (x16), the auxiliary power connector is 8pin x2, and the card size is L= W= mm H=55 ( slot). Gigabyte also will offer you a nice 4 Years Warranty (Online registration required).
