about half the time it runs just fine, idles normally and throttles up normally. the other half i have this problem.

it will idle very rough with lower rpms than normal idle. its a bouncing idle, as if it were missing. if i leave it idling and put it back and forth from in gear to neutral two or three times, it will start idling normally again and i can take off. if i give it gas in gear when the rough idle problem is there it only gets up to about rpms. if i give it gas in neutral while the idling problem is there it will either die or slowly rev up to about 2k rpms and then burst through to rpms.

the problem is there hot or cold. ive checked the spark plugs, they are clean. i'm running fresh gas.

any suggestions before i take it in to the shop?

check your sparkplug wires,one of them may be arching. or, at right side of powerhead under shift slid, follow wiring from neutral point [aprox. 6 inches] to wire connector. jiggle the connector while the motor is running to see if it gets better or worse. you might even check the oilpump rod lever [left side of powerhead] to make sure it's not sticking. that last part would be for the RPM spike. i remember a simular issue last summer on a HPDI. it's problem was a arching plug wire. Good Luck

good fishing to ya

i checked the inside of the sparkplug wires, a couple of them look rusted. there was none of that sparkplug wire grease left in them either.

more question

im going to take it in and have the oil pump changed and a compression check done. since i bought this boat used from a dealer that got it at a repo auction, i have no information on its service history. i'd like to just get any major maintenance done to it now so that i don't run any risks. i'm planning to get the sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, have a 10 micron fuel filter installed and all fuel filters changed. what else should i have done?

i'd also like to get the impeller in the water pump replaced, but someone told me to just have the entire water pump changed instead of just the impeller. he said it isn't that much more expensive and that its better than just changing the impeller.

also, im having a little trouble with my water pressure gauge. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. next time i take it out im going to check the line for obstructions or kinks. what should the line from the outboard to the back of the gauge have in it? water or air? is there anything else i should look for?

so i guess i could sum it up with three questions.

1 - what maintenance should i have done on a 5 year old hpdi with no history?

2 - go for a new impeller or just replace the entire water pump?

3 - should the water pressure gauges hose have water or air in it?

O2 sensor check. Have been hearing that O2 sensor can cause some of the problems your having.

when you get all the maintenance up to date including having the lower unit oil changed while there doing the water pump,and you get the 10 micron filter installed and all.be sure to run yamalube and also use the ring free product and you should not have any issues with anything else.When they check your motor out have them tell you how many hours are on it also ok.

Re: considering yamaha hpdi, any imput?

Good motor. Yamaha and Mercury are the industry leaders for a reason, they make what consumers want to buy. I wouldn't think too hard about it, every engine manufacture has it's own issues, just like boats, cars, etc. It is no different than a car. If you are looking at brand new, they are all the same, they are all on full warranty just compare performance to what you are looking for. If it's used you're after, it's all about how it was maintained. I would not read forums, most people do not take care of their engine and boat properly therefore they have issues and complain about their issues online. The engine is a mechanism with hundreds of parts, many of them moving, fluids pumping through, electricity, timing, exposure to many various environments, etc Buy what you like and want, maintain it well, you will love it.

Mercury = Ford/Chevy
Yamaha = Toyota/Lexus
Evinrude = Dodge/Nissan
Honda = Honda

All of these vehicle manufactures sell over 1 million vehicles each year. All have cars on the road with over , miles on them never having any issues. An outboard motor is no different.

yamaha hpdi vmax (need help)

I went out this morning and boat running like a top. After running about half the day ,I was on a run back up the river when my rpm, fell off to around . I stopped and restarted boat hopped right up on plane and came to full rpm's on pad and then thirty seconds after it fell back to r.p.m.'s . I then began to worry and shut down engine and pulled cowling to check for any visual problems and found none. motor would then not restart. After trying to start for some time i finnally gave up and trimmed motor up and was going to use trolling motor to come in. but with motor trimmed up engine fired right up. dropped it back down and headed for the ramp, motor still dropping r.p.m's to about even though it is a it only has 76 hours on it and I run ring free and stabil on every tank as recommended. I am a heavy equipment technician and know my way around a multimeter and wrenches. just wanted some help from you guys that seem to know these engines so well. any pointers on where I should start. motor still has factory warranty but I am afraid to take it in because of some post I read saying yamaha would not cover fuel related problems. water seperator changed in last 5 hours. Any help would be much apperciated.

Sharp sigh escaped her. You love a real hard cock, don't you. Rose said with a grin, and Vera carefully nodded her head in agreement with her.

I was just waiting for this - with my petrified member I stuck into her, and the races began. We changed positions above and below, on the side. She finished two times, and I could hardly restrain myself. I have one more hole, its all yours, I couldnt believe my ears.

And Natasha. They were very happy with me, they said that I was just great, and, of course, we could not help but have sex with them. I asked them to shove both cocks inside me at the same time. They agreed with pleasure, and I felt how two cocks enter me, how the heads rub against each other inside me, it was just amazing, they.

Now discussing:

No, she doesn't accept it, unfortunately. Like so much else. Anal sex does not accept, blowjob only on major holidays, do not do it, do not tell it, etc. So I, too, to some extent, am on a sex diet. Sex seems to be there, only some not complete.
