Sources told TMZ that it doesn’t appear that Quando Rondo was struck by bullets, as he was not at the scene any more when police responded -- but he was in the parking lot before the shooting.

One man with the group was shot in the hand and treated at a local hospital, TMZ said.

Quando Rondo

American rapper and singer from Georgia

Musical artist

Tyquian Terrel Bowman (born 23 March 1999), better known by his stage name Quando Rondo, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He is signed to YoungBoy Never Broke Again's NBA and Motown Records. He initially gained attention with the release of his song "I Remember" featuring Lil Baby in January 2018. He would then go on to release three mixtapes, Life B4 Fame (2018), Life After Fame (2018), and From the Neighborhood to the Stage (2019). His song "Motivation" was featured on the popular YouTube channel WorldStarHipHop.

Early life[edit]

Tyquian Bowman was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia.[2] He showed early interest in music as a child. As a teenager, he spent some time in juvenile detention centers and was released in October 2017. At that time, he decided to pursue music full-time.[3]

His stage name was a play on his nickname, "Quando". He was also a fan of the basketball player, Rajon Rondo.[2][4] He grew up listening to Chief Keef, Collective Soul, and Fatboy Slim.[3]

In January 2018, he released the song "I Remember", featuring rapper Lil Baby.[5] He followed that up with the release of the songs "Motivation" and "Paradise".[6] The videos for all three songs accumulated millions of views on YouTube.[3] On April 17, 2018, he released his first mixtape, Life B4 Fame.[7] The album featured "ABG" as well as songs with guest verses from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and OMB Peezy.[8] It accumulated 1 million streams on MyMixtapez in its first two days of release.[3]

In June 2018, Quando Rondo released the single "Kiccin' Shit".[9] Later that month, it was announced that he was the first signee to YoungBoy Never Broke Again's Atlantic Records imprint, Never Broke Again, LLC.[10][11] In August of that year, he and Kevin Gates were featured on the YoungBoy song, "I Am Who They Say I Am".[12] The following month, Quando Rondo was featured on three of the four tracks of YoungBoy Never Broke Again's 4Loyalty EP.[13]

On September 24, 2018, Quando Rondo released his second mixtape, Life After Fame. The album featured guest verses from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Rich Homie Quan, and Boosie Badazz.[14] He went on to open for SOB X RBE on select tour dates in the United States on their "Global Gangin" tour, which was scheduled to end in December 2018.[14][15]

In February 2019, Quando Rondo released the single "Scarred from Love",[16] which appeared on his third mixtape, From the Neighborhood to the Stage, released on May 10, 2019.[17] He released his debut studio album, QPac, on January 10, 2020.[18]

Following months of controversy surrounding his alleged involvement in King Von's death, Quando released his fourth mixtape, Still Taking Risks, on May 7, 2021. The mixtape has no features, consisting of 15 tracks and three bonus records.[19]

In March 2019, YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Quando Rondo were sued by Carl Capers, who worked as a DJ and tour manager for YoungBoy, for attacking him at their concert in December 2018.[20]

Altercation with King Von[edit]

On November 6, 2020, an altercation broke out between the crews of rappers King Von and Quando Rondo outside an Atlanta nightclub, leading to a shoot-out that resulted in the death of King Von. Quando and his entourage claimed that they were acting in self-defense and Von was the aggressor; TMZ reported that previous to the brawl, Quando was napping in a car outside the nightclub, awaking to find King Von and his crew angrily approaching him and his associates. There was footage of Von throwing punches at Quando Rondo's crew, prior to the gunfight.[21] Surveillance videos also showed Rondo helping "Lul Timm" get to the hospital afterwards.[22]

Quando Rondo publicly remained silent on the incident until two weeks later, when he released his song "End of Story", which was assumed to be a reference to Von's song trilogy, "Crazy Story". In the song, he recalls the shooting and addresses his involvement.[23] In the song, he again states that he was defending himself and even shows support for his friend Timothy Leeks, a rapper also known as Lul Tim, who was charged for the murder of Von.[24] In April 2021, Quando denied that the song was a diss toward Von, and claimed he did not know that Von had songs with that title.[19] Despite receiving strong criticism, Quando has continued to publicly support Leeks.[25][26]

A man recently pulled up on Quando Rondo while shopping and threatened the rapper to a fight.

In video footage that began circulating online on Thursday (Sept. 16), Quando is seen at the mall, getting his items rang up by the cashier. Moments later, he is approached by an unidentified man, who wants to fight the rapper.

"You ain't scrap," the man said on the clip. "You ain't dirty. I said go the bathroom. Let's go to the bathroom and get a one."

The random guy reiterated: "Let's go to the bathroom and get a one. Scary-ass nigga."

It's unclear why Quando Rondo was confronted by this man, but in the short footage, the Savannah, Ga. rhymer doesn't appear to engage very much. It's also uncertain which mall Quando was in and if he knew the man who approached him.

This incident comes four months after the QPac artist and his crew were involved in a shooting at a convenience store in Blackshear, Ga., not too far from where Quando had a performance, which had a relatively low attendance.

Quando Rondo and his team were in the parking lot of the convenience store near a highway when officials believe a shooter opened fired from the other side of the road or from the highway. Quando was not injured, but someone from his crew was treated at a nearby hospital.

Prior to the shooting transpiring, Quando's Georgia concert was presumably his first live show following the shooting incident that resulted in the death of King Von last November.

Back in April, Quando did a multipart interview with radio personality Angela Yee to explain what happened on the night of King Von's murder.

Before this, Quando Rondo held a virtual concert where he was accused of dissing Von.

Quando, who was at the scene of King Von's murder in downtown Atlanta on Nov. 6, 2020, and is connected to the shooting that killed Von, has complained about his struggles with booking shows, which purportedly stems from Von's death.

Quando Rondo has had shows canceled due to venue owners being fearful of the dangers Quando may pose to their event space and attendees. His November of 2020 show in Macon, Ga. was postponed by the city's sheriff's office.
