Exploring Palm Springs’ Wellness Dispensaries
By Kevin Perry
You are a product of your surroundings. Where you live defines who you are, whether it’s a salty New Englander, a laid back SoCal denizen, or an international woman (or man) of mystery.
But ultimately, we all hail from the same place: Mother Earth.
When human biology harmonizes with its local geography, we resonate with a lovely sense of calm. And at the center of this centeredness: Palm Springs. We have been a wellness destination for centuries, drawing millions of visitors thirsty for our aquifer serenity and bolstered by the stability of our foothills. The landscape embraces guests and caresses them with great vibes.
For these reasons, and so many more, we crave products described as all natural. We want to emulate nature and benefit from its healing, anxiety reducing properties. Plant life evolved alongside humanity, so we are physiologically bound together. The vitamins and minerals in vegetables, for example, help us survive and thrive.
And cannabis products may offer next-level benefits when it comes to living your best life.
CBD vs. THC
Many people’s first impression of cannabis is that of a controlled substance that alters your behavior. Marijuana products do, in fact, have the propensity to get you “high” but only in relation to their THC content.
THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, and it has psychoactive capabilities. Cannabidiol (CBD), on the other hand, binds differently with the receptors of the brain. It still binds with our biological structures, but it does not trigger the mood swings or impairment associated with THC.
CBD may be the perfect prescription to address various ailments, from inflammation to insomnia to immune deficiencies. The FDA even approved CBD for the alleviation of severe forms of epilepsy. Cancer patients have shown increased appetites as they recuperate from treatment, courtesy of certain weed products. People struggling with chronic pain and discomfort often turn to cannabis products for relief.
Hence, the potential perks of CBD can dovetail with a restful, healthy stay in Palm Springs. It’s all contoured to the individual life journey you choose to follow, and we hope it leads you to your ideal state of Zen. For more specific coordinates, check out our roundup of dispensaries below…
Palm Springs Dispensaries
Downtown Palm Springs is the chillest hotspot in the world. It encapsulates the freedom to stroll and puts the rock in your roll. The cannabis enclaves in our stylish city center reflect a midcentury aesthetic with a decidedly here-and-now attention to consumer needs and desires.
The foyer at Lighthouse Dispensary, for example, feels like the gateway to a spa weekend. Spacious and placid, you are ushered to a wellness wonderland from the moment you arrive. A short jaunt south on Palm Canyon brings you to Harvest House of Cannabis. This helpful haven holds occasional events like tutorials and Q&A sessions to ensure that your cannabis experience is right for you.
Palm Springs is synonymous with style. During your euphoric tour of downtown, be sure to flex your fashion sense at Holland Pharms. Once you are suitably suited up, show off your flair at Four Twenty Bank. This Palm Springs dispensary/lounge provides ample room to kick it at various music and comedy shows.
While you’re in the lower downtown ‘hood, be sure to visit the ferociously popular Coachella Valley Green Dragon . Another formidable cannabis contender is Off the Charts, which offers a vast array of edible CDB fare for you (and even for your pets!). A couple of smaller dispensaries like Rockstar Cannabis Club ( S Indian Canyon Dr,) and PSA Organica will round out your daytrip nicely.
The East Side
If you’re venturing east, check out a duo of dynamic dispensaries. The Oasis beckons you inside with a storefront that exudes Palm Springs chic. Desert flowers entwine with architectural whimsy to direct you inside, where you’ll find a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Their input is invaluable as you tap into the physical, psychological and emotional benefits of CBD.
About a block away, level up with Reefer Madness Lounge, a dispensary equipped with classic arcade games. LGBTQ+ owned, this establishment is packed with sensory delights that pair brilliantly with their delectable array of edibles.
Northern Palm Springs
Before you leave town (side note: why would you ever want to leave town?), don’t miss the dispensaries peppering the northern ridge of Palm Springs. Get philosophical at Higher Vision, get inspired at Hightend (33 95 N Indian Canyon), and get your green on at Trulieve.
And for a holistic healing haven, your north star is Joy of Life Wellness Center. Its namesake, Joy Meredith, also owns Crystal Fantasy downtown. She understands the fascinating connections between the soul, mind and body. From new age stones to Reiki circles to candles and collectibles, you are immersed in higher consciousness here in our hometown. CBD may just be the perfect garnish for your desert wellness tour.

Weed lounge opens in former Palm Springs bank building. Is it world's largest?
After 23 years empty and more than $1 million in renovations, a former bank building in downtown Palm Springs has reopened as what the owners call "one of the largest dispensaries and lounges in the world."
Four Twenty Bank, a 38,square-foot space at S. Palm Canyon Drive, opened for business this week. The venue sells a range of cannabis products which customers can smoke onsite while they play board and arcade games, chat on a couch or — on weekends — watch live music.
A number of local personalities attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, including Palm Springs City Councilmember and former Mayor Geoff Kors, who led the countdown with chants of "Four-Twenty-Bank!"
The business is the product of a partnership between Palm Springs cannabis industry veteran Julie Montante and Nolan Moore, a Los Angeles-based serial entrepreneur.
"When I looked at the space, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it," Montante said. "I wanted to bring in people of every nationality and gender just to have a good time. I wanted to fill the space with pool tables and games … and music as well."
Design cost upwards of $1 million
The bank building underwent extensive remodeling to bring it up to city code after more than two decades vacant, according to Montante, including the addition of bathrooms and improved support beams.
A specially-designed ventilation system, which passes air through charcoal filters to remove cannabis before releasing it outside, was installed as part of the overhaul.
Four Twenty Bank's owners turned the bank vault into an arcade with air hockey and racing games and added two massive Swarovski crystal chandeliers to the old lobby.
All told, the renovations took two years and $ million, according to Moore. Four Twenty Bank's co-owners do not yet own the building itself and say they are leasing with the option to buy.
"The design, construction and brand was mostly me," Moore said. "Julie (Montante) has the business sense."
Is it world's largest cannabis lounge?
Moore said Four Twenty Bank is "possibly the largest cannabis lounge in the world." He added that he is working with adjudicators from Guinness World Records about a possible entry for the shop on those grounds.

While plausible, the claim is difficult to verify since the definition of cannabis lounge is somewhat hazy.
For example, Planet 13 in Las Vegas claims to be the largest "cannabis store" in the world with a total building footprint of , square feet. Only 16, square feet is dedicated dispensary space, however, and smoking is currently not allowed on the premises.
Planet 13 says it has plans to add a cannabis consumption lounge to its Las Vegas facility, but those are currently on hold due to regulatory restrictions in Nevada.
Palm Springs location could be first in chain
Four Twenty Bank is Moore's first venture into the cannabis industry, although he said it won't be his last. The co-owner said he intends to make the Palm Springs location the first in a chain of cannabis lounges with potential sister shops in Las Vegas and London.
Montante, by contrast, has spent decades in the local cannabis industry, beginning with a self-described "illegal dispensary" in Palm Springs two decades ago.
"I did all the right things, paid the taxes … but nobody really knew how to handle us," she said. "The city asked me to close and vie for a new license, which I did."
Montante previously owned both PSA Organica dispensary and Lounge at N. Palm Canyon Drive. The latter business was the first legal cannabis lounge in Palm Springs. Montante said she has since sold Lounge to focus on Four Twenty Bank and is currently looking for a buyer for PSA Organica.

A new dispensary and cannabis lounge is opening in downtown Palm Springs, taking over a space that has changed hands several times over the years.
"We've made a dispensary, lounge, arcade, pool tables, we even have bands on the weekend," said valley cannabis entrepreneur Julie Montante.
With more than 10, sq. ft., Montante said her latest project, the Bank Dispensary and Lounge, is the largest dispensary in the city, and perhaps the United States.
"You can purchase your products, you can sit and lounge for as long as you want, you can play games," Montante said. "It's just a place to come and enjoy other people."
It's a building on South Palm Canyon Dr. that she said has set empty for extended periods of time– the former home of an actual bank.
Montante said, "It was an eyesore to the city of Palm Springs It was too big for any restaurant; it was too big for any gift store. They tried chopping it up – that didn't work."
She said the biggest challenge was bringing the deteriorating building up to code, spending more than $1 million on compliance.
And with the biggest day of the year in cannabis set for Tuesday of next week, 4/20, the Bank has a ribbon cutting planned with music, games and giveaways.
With cannabis lounges resuming indoor operations at limited capacity, the Bank's grand opening is falling right into place.
"Now we're allowed to have 50 percent capacity in our lounges," Montante said. "We were closed off for the longest time but now we are open 50 percent."

Let Kristinochka live here as long as it takes. I put my hand into the pocket of my jacket: And this is for your concern. I handed her several ten-thousandth bills.Palm Springs Things To See and Do -Downtown Palm Springs
Her right hand the eggs, stretching out her index finger and stroking Oleg's anus. The next moment, Alina lagged behind Oleg's member and, laying her husband on his back, sat on his penis, pressing her breasts against her husband's chest and bending over, pressed her clitoris against Alex's shaved pubis, thereby lifting and opening her anus for Oleg, whose member was abundant smeared with Alina's saliva and was ready to plunge again into the warm flesh flowing with love juices.
Oleg put the head of the penis to the vagina, lightly pressed on Alex's penis and, with a smooth but sharp movement, introduced it into Alina's already occupied vagina.

Zhenya threw herself on her father's neck. Thin, tall, almost a head taller than her parent, she literally grabbed the man in an armful. Once again, daughter, happy birthday - the man, squeezed by girlish hands, put the string bags on the floor. Dad. Thank you.
